Opinion: New LB > Old LB

Same people may not have realized it yet, but new LB doesn't have to rush gunblade anymore. You can rush ludens and kill fools like nobody's business all the same. Old LB also felt a bit more toxic. Just because you could 100-0 someone instantly with W-Q-RQ-E, distortion back. I like that it takes time now. As a mid laner, I like the new leblanc. I especially like how there's more skill involved and more reward for it. Specifically, landing chains. Rather than doing a ton of dmg by auto pressing Q-W, you have to land chains to kill people. And the damage is more rewarding if you do land chains.

I think both would be just as good. But I think the current leblanc is more fun and less toxic than the old one.

I think people just want her revert back because it's easer to make kills and feel more "Assassin". Now I can sit here and discuss the positives and negatives of "0.01sec kill" assassins, but bottom line is that I prefer the current version of LB. It takes measurement and consideration in addition to mechanics and fast reflex to deliver current Leblanc as an Assassin than just Q+R+W or the likes of that.

But I will welcome revert LB for URF to come.

People are somehow wanting the previous one back, while she had one of the most toxic kit in the whole game. This one is currently fairly balanced, is not an issue in pro play nor in Solo Q, is strong when ahead, is weak when behind. I don't see why they would need to revert her, given how fine she is as of right now. As much as I loved playing the old Leblanc, this one is so much better to play as, and against.

the new leblanc is not balanced lol. Balanced doesn't mean weak. That champion is either broken or trash, idk how that's balanced

She's not broken nor she is trash atm. So i'd say she's rather balanced yeah

They're saying it's balanced just because they love that riot gave them all the time in the world to react to an assassination attempt with their slow af reflexes, or the fact that they can 1v1 leblanc as a champion that's NOT supposed to be able to 1v1 her when caught out.

These players don't care that she no longer can do her job as an assassin anymore and see her as nothing but free wins when picked on the enemy team. Can't wait for old leblanc to come back.

I feel like I have a hard time teamfighting with current leblanc.

I'm an assassin yeah, but I'm not sure if I can comfortably assassinate the ADC, even if they're alone sometimes (in waiting for the passive proc to mature they sometimes are able to kill me)... so you can imagine how I feel about trying to assassinate an ADC that's with even 1 other person in the back line.

Current LB enjoys chain landing more I guess because it pops her passive. I guess current LB can also potentially AOE passive everyone.

IMO the biggest difference between current and old LB is: old lb has to W+R to clear waves. New one can do this with W+Q. The trade for this is current LB's burst is not as fast. Both of them regardless have to dash into the wave to clear them.

Please note I am not an LB main nor any where close to an expert and these are just my thoughts when I try her.

Nor am I an assasin main, so my thoughts might be a little skewed.

On an unrelated note, if old LB does comeback, will she still be able to pull of the big assasinations? We have huge shielders that I don't remember much being there when old LB was in game.

Many already said this a thousand times and Riot turned a deaf ear on it because "pressing 2 buttons for ult is too hard".

As for the "delay" that an assassin shouldn't have, I guess Zed and Fizz didn't get the memo, but then again, if you take away a champs instagib and put in behind a delay, people will cry no matter how much better the champ became.

New LeBlanc requires much more skill than previous one, but then again, "pressing 2 buttons is too hard" - AzuBK

People will cry no matter the change. We now lost an actual fun champion who also fit her theme of "deceiver" because too many people felt entitled to have the only deceiving as "I wonder when I will 100-0 you, now, or in the next 5 seconds?".

Old LB was toxic because of her burst, and the burst was added behind a delay to make it more healthier, but people can't adapt. That's not the game's fault, nor the champ's fault. Riot made a wonderful rework on LeBlanc, but people who can't adapt cried, and sadly, they won.

We just have to get used to it, no matter how much you enjoy the current LeBlanc, you have until next patch, after that, prepare her grave.

I dont see skill in it at all man, when adc's can kill you in two clicks how do you expect an assassin to, to wait unless they have invenarablility like zed or fizz, LB gets bursted the min she q's or w's in and unless she is super nerfed down she doesnt work. All it is now is land two chains and gunblade it doesnt really even take more skill then the previous one, its in fact just worse. Also she was extremely toxic after her release, she was so oppressive in lane that it wasnt funny, also they had to nerf her until she wasnt even relevant jsut to stay balanced. She reach a Ryze stage, so I dont see how that is any less toxic.

That in a nutshell is the problem with all assassins. Before the rework, all of them could instagib you (old LB for example). This felt good as the assassin but wasn't fair for the target.

Now assassins do slower but greater burst (new LB) and get counterplay.

Problem is even that small window of counterplay is enough to make all assassins feel like shit.

The identity of assassins is to kill a priority target. Many of them struggle to do that in the small window, and have to rely on some other gimmick.

Either the assassin player feels useless or the victim does.

I have played both iterations of Leblanc and each have their pros and cons. The important part for me is the usage of Distortion.

Old Leblanc had more reliability and combo’d more smoothly, but most of the time had to decide whether to use her W for the damage (farming too) or positioning. The current W was pushed into positioning tool as the damage was nerfed in the patches after her rework.

Personally, I favor the versatility that the current W has, providing options for aggressive and defensive usage without sacrificing a crucial part of her damage as well as having a lower mana cost, but higher cooldown than previous iteration since it isn’t the optimal first max. However, I do understand how this makes Leblanc too safe since it takes the risk factor away, and thus unfair to play against.

Tl;dr For me its LB’s W. Old LB had instagib, but sacrificed power if used defensively or farming. Current LB has delays but is safer.

Of course new LB > old LB, new LB has safe wave clear. She's literally one of the best mid assassins in high elo because of this, but LB players aren't very clever and want an even more braindead playstyle in lane so what can you do.

LB wouldn't be reverted in the first place if she was balanced in her current state. Riot most likely are gonna revert her and then maybe in a year or two rework her RIGHT.

I never played old LB, so I'm gonna need 1 thing to be clear/explained to me.

New/current LB will fucking obliterate anyone if she's ahead and gets all 4 hit from her E R+E (More damage than Q and W) along with her passive, while old LB seems to rely on her Q mark, making the ideal combo be like the one you stated (Also her W did a lot of damage before).

So this would make her less reliant on a skill-shot and more on a point and click (Of course her QR mark would need an ability to proc it, but you could save W and use it there).

Did I get her playstyle/combo's right?

Shablagoo1 votes

Lol its not as toxic but sucks, it gets to a point were you literally can't even fight anymore, LB was already a bad teamfighter but this new lb is terrible, you dont have time to wait 1.5 seconds thats how fast some ppl burst. Lb was the worst person to put delays on.

What if Le Blanc got a %mr shred like Evelynn's w when she lands a chain?
