I have decided that I am done with support(rant)

Recently support has bring me nothing other than frustration. For my own sake I think it's time to say goodbye to support. Here are why.

  1. Adc players They think I am their slaves, they blame everything on me, they are so arrogant and self-entitled that they refuse to take any constructive advices. I am sick of seeing these ADC doing stupid stuff causing the team to lose the game and blame it all on others. Like it's never this Caitlyn's fault that she mispositioned, never used her e or flash nor used her trap to zone enemies, but it is the Thresh's fault he didn't peel for her. It is even more frustrating that you know the potential of the champion but the player is so bad and you can't help it.

  2. Lack of appreciation No one appreciates the support doing support's job. I sacrifice everything, cs, kills, even my own life, but the player's do not ever appreciate or recognise my sacrifice. They don't even type a simple word like "ty". It's not just the player tho, I am playing the least wanted role and Rito doesn't even appreciate me for helping to lower the crazy long queue time .

  3. Inability to carry in lower elo As the support I enable the carries to do their job better, basically everything I do from warding to shielding to healing to peeling to spoon feeding all makes the game easier for my teammates to win, but it doesn't make the game any easier for me, because I still need my teammate to properly use these things I do for them. Like I can ward all I can, call out the position of enemy jungler, warn my team with ping, but if my team won't look at the minimap, it is completely meaningless.

  4. Terrible match making You know how it feels when your whole team is lower rating than you, and the system matches you with some worse players to balance out the team? Especially when I am 1 win away from promo and I get an fresh lv30 unranked 1 win 8 loss adc in my silver 1 game?

  5. Inability to play other roles I got support 100% for 2 weeks when I have support as either primary secondary or fill, when I play normals with friends in other roles I seriously feel like my skill in the other position is so much worse.

There are many more, but yah, goodbye support.

yupp, pretty much why i dropped support to main jungle - right now it´s the only role you can play supportive for your whole team and still have an impact. when riot deceided to kill the vision game and make laning too important it really robbed supports from a lot of their cross map influence this season and put them more in the spot of being the "adcs- bitch" than ever.

supports are like bard of final fantasy 11. quick history of what happened to me when i started playing the bard job. i had 4 dps jobs max level at the time with dam near best in slot in most areas or close too. i had this crapily geared bard that i got to 75 out of boredom. it was the beginning of the end for me as a dps. i know how you feel as far as not being the respect. thats primarily why i dont play support. play what makes u happy. i main bot lane adc/mid because i find them fun. i dont care that 50% of the population in this game wants either. play this game for you as it your time being spent.

I enjoy being in a supportive role in real life, but in league, not sure if it is the game itself or the players, makes the supportive role feels unrewarded. in every other role I get to do my own things and mind my own bussiness, meanwhile as support, I sacrifices everything to be called useless when my adc suicide. it really just don't feel right

I got called a god as Soraka in my last game.

I guess it really depends on what you put in. Sure, I hate being a ward bot (I secretly wish sightstone would be deleted and vision revamped for all roles rather than just trinkets alone)), but if you commit and do well you can get some praise and make a difference.

One thing I do, that can help you, is pair up with a buddy or two, preferably them playing as adc or jungler (in that order). Or leave the ADC at some point and roam (you don't have to be their slave, after all you're the team's support).

Mute everyone/ disable all chat, pings is all you need in League typing is a waste of time, focus on making plays yourself through roaming mid or counter jungling with your jungler. OP.gg your matches in lobby if you see that unranked guy/feeder => dodge! dodging once in a while only costs 3lp, losing a game much more time and lp. I have been there in silver its hard and yes support isnt the easiest role to carry with but it is possible you just have to stick with it.
