Question about Teemo's shrooms

Does the damage change after you buy an item? Like, let's say i place a shroom (I only have dorans), but then I go shop and get more AP items. Does the shroom deal extra damage now (even though I had less AP when I placed it) or does it stay the same?

In my experiences with Bard , it does that with his Shrines. Can't see why it wouldn't be the same for Teemo.
