Riot you need to ban smurfs

General Esdeath ··4 votes·1,721 views

They do nothing for the ladder except make it worse for everyone else. Why are they allowed to smurf, stomp, and try to advertise their shitty stream while Riot just looks the other way? What's the difference between smurfing (especially in a duo) and elo boosting? I know this is going to be downvoted, because people like to believe there's nothing wrong because they "learn from the stream", but I ask you again, what's the difference between smurfing and elo boosting? All it does is support people who buy accounts, ruin games, and just removes a sense of competition from the ladder.

A person playing one's own account and a person playing someone else's account

Same person, two accounts, but two different ranks? Someone is either buying accounts or they're intentionally losing games

A new account isn't automatically granted the rank of the main account.

They wouldn't place in silver, and I can guarantee you they're not the ones leveling these accounts.

It's just not an easy thing to ban someone over unfortunately I think yes they should be banned because it isn't fair. But I also feel that if you're complaining about Smurfs you need to focus more on improving than climbing.

will you people stop fucking crying? everyone wants to talk shit about how great they are and how they should be diamond+. And then someone who is diamond+ comes along and shows how flawed their game play really is.

I don't recall saying I belong in diamond+, I said I struggle in G4. And what if it's not even my lane they're in? What if I'm top lane and suddenly WHOOPS my bot lane is 0-11 at 12 minutes and I'm sitting here farming while I'm 1-0-1?

Can't, my enemy laner knows how to play safe and doesn't try to 1v1 me while I'm 2 levels and 800g ahead

Err....No. Watching smurfs play is a great source of information. Without smurfs, to this day I'd still believe that match making, garbage team mates, DQ or whatever other nonsense Bronzies like to cry about are the reason I'm not winning games. But when you see TF Blade go 20-0 from Bronze to Platinum, it's really eye opening. I was hardstuck B5 my first season and no matter what I did, I couldn't figure out how the hell to climb out. It wasn't until I watched a smurf do it, a guy called Killian who no longer plays, did I finally climb out. I even got an account to Gold this season. 90% of what I learn comes from watching people smurf.

You might be thinking, "so why not watch good players play in their own elo and learn that way?". Well, when a challenger Tryndamere goes to split bot in the late game, his challenger team mates go to pressure Baron forcing the enemy to choose between Baron and an inhibitor. But when my Silver ass goes to split bot, my monkey shit team mates all come bot to try and KS one another, lose, feed and then lose the Baron while we waiting a minute to respawn, refuse to surrender to make even more dumb ass noobshit plays to lose the game. Masters and Challenger players are playing a different game. Winning low elo games with trash ass team mates is a skill on it's own and watching a smurf do it is the best way to learn.

Then they can go enjoy normals instead of ruining ranked games for 9 other people

Some like SRO actually do. However, normals is not ranked. While on the surface it may appear the same, the general skill level of normals is far lower than even the lowest ranks. Occasionally, you will get a Platinum or Diamond player trying some troll shit but the skill level of normals over many games will be consistently lower than the average Bronze 4 game.

And assuming the smurf is there to win, how can he ruin the game for 9 people? Wouldn't be more accurate to say that the 5 people not on his team is in for a rough match. Also, he if he is not on your team this game, he might be next game. Or best of all, you actually learn something and now you're the dude that makes the difference on the teams he is on.

Then he can educate much better there

Nah getting a free win because you have a smurf just feels pretty boring and bad. I like earning a win, it feels good. Rarely do they ever teach anything aside from situational builds, which vary based on team comp(s).
