When Ryze is open, there is absolutely no reason to pick any other champion over him
unless you are last pick and he cannot fill the role you must play

The answer to ryze is sated junglers. Sated Vi, Jax, Udyr etc can easily 1v1 him late game. Fight OP champions with OP champions.

Agreed, just watch ptl and you saw the best ap builds. The best was 859 ap... And o look at that, it's exactly rizes build.
Yeah I only started playing Ryze again after his rework and I went 1 vs 1 against the enemy Irelia. We were both fed with full builds and our teams were dead. I won with 50% HP left.
I have Pirate Ryze though so I don't have ugly champion issues. I have lanes against Rivens and Vlads and still don'thave any issues with any particular champion.
He is awesome and I hope he doesn't get any nerfs soon. BTW I usually build tear > roa > boots > archangels > merc treads > wota > bv > void staff. I'll substitute the last 3 for other items if they have a fed AD or whatever.
