"It is underhanded and despicable to take smite against heimerdinger'"

A few days ago when I was doing Rumble in the jungle in my ranked games. I had a Ziggs in my teammate who was being outpushed by a heimerdinger and being killed 5 times in lane. https://champion.gg/champion/Heimerdinger As you can see. Heim has the lowest kill ratio in all of the midlaners available and I was mildly surprised why cant Ziggs in all champions cant kill off his turrets and push him back. So I lectured him how he has a ample opportunity to counterplay against this, and he makes a massive rant about how "He is farming from fog of war, I cant harass." I thought the main objective laning against heimer was killing off his turrrets first, then harassing him. Basically this guy was doing the opposite, by handing heim his ass by running straight into the turrets to throw his bombs.

So after the match I invited him in a custom game to instruct how to play against heimer, under the condition we are in draft pick and we know each others picks. So I did what I always do against heimer, and took smite. The following results were bombastic and outrageous since he was bellowing at the top of his lungs in allchat "It is underhanded and despicable to take smite against heimerdinger." Ok, I dont get it but by this logic its unmanly to take exhaust to botlane since the adc is reliant of auto-attacks. Heresy of taking cleanse against Veigar or Galio. And a sin for taking barrier against assassins. I don't get what the people in my elo is thinking when they lock in games anymore here...
