the taric rework

so as a Taric player i want taric to be enjoyable and fun to play when he is reworked. There are some things that could be changed and others that should be left alone. I want to point out some things that taric is good at as a support and the things he is not that he should still have after the rework.

Taric is good at

*Being tanky

*Disengage type support

*Providing armor to teammates

*Aura based ult

*Basic attacks scaling with armor

*armor shred

Taric is not good at

*consistant peel

*Engage

I have an idea of what would be cool for the taric rework

Passive: every 12 seconds Tarics next basic attack deal bonus damage equal to 10% of tarics armor plus 10% of the enemys Abilities or basic attacks reduce the cooldown by 1 second

Q: Outrageous gems: Taric can toggle this ability to change the gem aspect he is using

Emerald: taric gives off an aura giving /5/10/15/20/25 ability power to nearby allied champions

Opal: Every 12/10/8/6/4 seconds taric heals the lowest health champion nearby for 20/35/50/70/100

Ruby: Taric gives off an aura giving 5/10/15/20/25 attack damage to nearby allied champions

Sapphire: Taric gives off an aura giving 2/4/6/8/10% damage reduction to nearby allied champions

w: gem plate: passive: taric gains 3/6/9/12/18% bonus armor

Shatter: Taric shatters his armor (canceling this passive) in a large radius dealing magic damage to nearby enemies. Nearby allies in the radius gain the armor taric lost

e: shimmering light: Taric holds up his sheild and hit enemies in a cone in front of him dealing magic damage slowing them. Enemies facing the blast are blinded for 2 seconds

r: Taric smashes his hammer down knocking enemies up that are close to him in a large radius dealing physical damage this has a bonus effect depending on what gem taric is using

Emerald: Enemies hit are knocked away from taric

Opal: The ground that is effected radiates healing for a short time

Ruby: Enemies hit also take 200/350/500 magic damage

Sapphire: allies standing on the ground are invinsible for 1/2/3 seconds

I really like the idea of incorporating Taric's gems into his kit more. Even if Riot doesn't do quite what you suggested, they should do SOMETHING based on those gems. I kind of like the idea of having a gem toggle skill that switches out bonus effects on all of his other abilities. We could get some cool visual effects in there as well. I would also like to see some more consistent scaling with one stat. Old Taric had AP scaling on all of his abilities and I think that was healthy. I would like to see more of that instead of what we have now, where you have to build AP and health and armor and none of it feels like it makes him strong. It makes him a tank, but I never feel like his abilities are very impactful. I especially miss the days when I could stack AP and it would make my heals AWESOME. Now it just feels... pretty meh. It's also DARN hard to hit someone with a powerful Dazzle. It feels very pointless to make the ability stronger when you're close to the target if you can't get very close without using it in the first place.

tl;dr Taric has plenty of room for reworks that would both strengthen his theme and make him feel more impactful.

I like the toggle with the gem idea (its really good), a cool passive they could add is something that turns true damage into ad

Thanks yea I kinda just whipped that idea out based around the gem toggling. I'm. It too sure about that rest but that would be really cool if he could reduce true damage.

Riot hates toggles... FYI. I want Taric to remain a tanky, team-helping, healing stun bot... with more relevant auras. I'd be OK with an ultimate that was a powerful aura that was nothing else but an aura the whole game that scaled with ranks in R.
