why do disables not stop lux ult?

thats a bit stupid as it technically has a small channel time of .5 seconds. so many times i have stunned, knocked up, or flipped this bitch champ only for her ult to still go off and kill 2 of my teammates or me.

Technically, because it's a cast time not a channel time.

Because it doesn't have a channel time, it had a long cast animation

Ezreal's too. It's because it's not a channel, but more of a delayed cast if-you're-still-alive-at-the-end.

And yes, it's pretty stupid. Doesn't reward you for planning/awareness/reaction time.

It's an instant cast spell technically, no channel. It's just the cast time of the spell itself. It's like disabling Karthus when he Q's. The moment he begins the spell, do whatever you want. That Q will go off once it's finished cooking. Only thing you can do is kill her, which will stop the animation all together.

if that is the case it should be CHANGED into a channel and champs should be allowed to stop it. .5 seconds is an extremly small window of counterplay, so it should be allowed.

id assume the same reason I can stun a thresh with sion and still get hooked and stunned myself. I think it is a little weird that a ability that has to be timed for at least a second doesn't cancel a thresh hook. It is also funny because the hook cancels sions stun, so it seems like if one can do it then both should have the same effect
