I just had the worst ranked experience ever that cost me my last promo match to gold 4. Hey, you might think its just another salty guy coming to the board to vent his frustration after losing a game but I think my experience perfectly demonstrates what is wrong with the system.

I got matched with a 4 man premade who barely spoke or pinged the whole game because they were probably over skype among them selves, leaving me in the dark as to what their plans were. They would always group as 4 and go for fights and objectives without saying anything to me. They also made a bunch of idiotic calls and refuse to listen or talk when I tried to reason with them. For instance, When the enemy team was 4 man pushing mid and 1 guy top, the 4 man premade went all the way to chase the 1 split pusher despite me begging for help mid, leaving me to defend mid by myself against 4 people. No amount of spam pinging would get them to come and we ended up losing 2 turrets. Later in the game, I think their internet went out or something because my four teammates randomly disconnected at once, leaving me to 1v5 for a good 2 mins or so. All these factors combined caused us to lose the game.

I can't play ranked anymore if this is what the ranked experience is gonna be like for the S6 season. Premades have way to much power in ranked. My ranked badge is no longer a reflection of my personal skill but rather how lucky I can get with premades. Or I could just find people to play dynamic queue with but ranked wouldn't have much value anyways because anyone can get carried. This is why ranked this season is dead. Ranked needs to be solo que/ ranked teams only.

Edit: Don't get me wrong though, the premade was NOT toxic but I did not enjoy playing with them none the less.

Its a new variation of the shaco law. The premade you get matched with will be annoying kids who are completely mismatched skill wise and can't do anything. The enemy premade will be double teleporting on your ass, living together in your jungle and getting every single objective.

I agree that this ranked mode is so fucking toxic. I've never seen more mismatched games in my entire life.

You had a bad game because of a bad draw on teammates. Tough break. It happens to everyone.

But where, exactly, were you last season? Everything you described in that game happened last season too. Except last season instead of having 4 people actually working together and just failing to communicate, we frequently got to play with two chained monkeys and two headless chickens. They all still went to chase the guy top--they just did it because they didn't trust the rest of the team to do it instead of because they thought they needed to stay together.

I don't begrudge anyone being upset about poor communication or toxic teammates, but let's not pretend that toxicity is a new phenomenon limited to dynamic queue.

They were grouping as four? Why weren't you following them? As someone who regularly plays with odd numbers of players (and has since LONG before dynamic queue existed), I think I can confidently speak for every group of players when I say that the optimal strategy I expect out of our PUG is NOT "run around by yourself and do whatever." If you'd joined the group and they thought you needed to be elsewhere, at least they would have had to say so. If they made bad calls as four people and it lost the game, then you should be asking what you might have done differently to win it instead of what they should have done differently.

Maybe the game was unwinnable no matter what you did, but if it was, well, that sounds like you were playing League (or any other MOBA). That's part of the game. There are no glasses so rosy as to convince me that back in the lauded days of solo/duo queue when the lobby experience was always pleasant, teams were always evenly matched, and players always worked together and communicated, nobody ever lost a game because of bad calls by teammates. A four man premade doesn't fundamentally alter the fact that sometimes the enemy team is better coordinated and sometimes your teammates aren't where they need to be.

Solo queue is coming, much to the dismay of me and (apparently, according to Riot's numbers) a lot of other players. So you'll get your chance to measure your individual skill along with anyone else who blushes at the thought of having to defer to someone else's shot-calling. And despite everything people are claiming now, we're still going to see posts about how that guy cost us the game, I always get stuck with a leaver, and the rest of my team did something bad and I tried to stop them and failed. So has it ever been, so shall it ever be, world without end. To me, your one-game conclusion about the representativeness of ranked badges says a lot more about your skill than either of the badges themselves.

I stopped caring about ranked altogether because of dynamic queue. I just play normals, nowadays.

Theres supposed be a solo que option coming around in a few weeks. Might have to just wait until then. Premades should never be allowed in Ranked vs solo players.

Yeah but how amazing is it to be able to Play what I want EVERY game in ranked. I don't fucking care because I'm so god damn happy I get to play top or Mid EVERY SINGLE GAME. It's really beautiful.

Man I feel sorry for you. I usually queue in 3s and 4s and dynamic queue is one of the best things that happened to us. It's true that we are over skype but we ping and communicate with the other guy(s). One thing I agree on that gives us way too much power is the surrender vote. Sometimes after a bad play leading to a seemingly lost game we type /ff without thinking too much if the other players want to give up or not. I'm sorry for potentially ruing innocent people's experience. I swear it's not my intention <_<

Not all 3 & 4 man premades are horrible people. But I hope Riot releases the "solo only" queue soon™ so that we all get the chance to play on our own.

Are you aware that SOLO queue ranked is going to be enabled really soon? Riot has stated this many times, maybe you haven't read it yet.

You are literally just another salty guy coming to the board to vent his frustration after losing a game. I'm sure you'll play against enemies which mimic your experience, leaving you on the winning side of the game. Games could be completely out of your control last season too, at least now you get your role and champion.

Yeah I'm usually not a toxic player but with dbag Premades sometimes I'd rather just AFK than deal with constant verbal abuse

No premade should have majority say in these matches IMO... at most 2+2+1

Everybody, and I mean everybody has had those types of games even before dynamic queue in both ranked and normal game alike. One game is an outlier. Every game is a problem.

it will only be like this for a few weeks. Riot said that they will release a ranked solo que shortly after dynamic que goes live so basically team ranked is being replaced by dynamic que and solo que will be virtually the same minus where you used to be able to duo because theyre taking that away now... The only thing I dislike is that they are gving more rewards to people who play dynamic que for the end of season but as long as I get to enjoy my first season of ranked solo que I'm good

New ranked is complete and utter garbage. If you don't play with 3 or 4 people regularly it really blows.

Nothing new. But instead of having 4 guys and one solo you just had 4 randoms that hated each other and nobody in the game did the same thing except playing their own game.

It is not something we didn't have before except that you are able to report them and in a 4+1 matchup your report matters as much as theirs combined.

Just wait a few weeks if you don't like dynamic queue. They said they will be implementing a solo queue where you can be only queued with other solo players for ranked.

Apart from disconnecting I met a similar group yesterday. They spoke in language unknown to me (when they spoke at all) and apart from that completely ignored my pings and used no pings to indicate where they were going. We lost but you should have seen the level of decision making on these guys. We are attacking from bottom to top side of the map. They rush at some point to fight 4v5 next to enemy red buff (buff is not even there). We had no vision in that area, there was no objective to fight for in that zone and they just went there without a single ping. I had to back (I was support btw) and the next thing I see is them running through our blue side of the jungle to reach their red buff zone and then proceed to fight their whole team. They all die and I ask what was the point of going there in the first place. I get no response. They also had a number of smaller stupid decision that eventually lead to a complete stomp.

I can accept that these kind of matches will happen every now and then. What I am very confused about is how can 4 people using voice communication make such poor decisions. At very least ping where you are going so that I can stupidly go there with you. Even then we would be likely to lose a fight on such a poor call but at least we will have a slightly better chance to win in a 5v5 scenario with our tank support (me) being there. I did not want to start a new thread to share this experience so here seemed to be the perfect place to do it. Now I got to share my story and I can only tell you that I know the feeling. I am still not blaming Riot for this. There is no cure for stupidity.

I decided to do my placements last night and I ended up getting a top lane kindred I got a AdC Sona I then had a lee sin that went afk only response from his buddy was he wanted to go make a sandwich he'll be back later it was just nothing but hell over and over 0 and 6 the dreamdream. Its like the trolls have come together and found a new way to epically troll People in ranked as a group now.

I feel your pain. I want to play ranked but the matchmaking seems really bad right now despite what Rito is saying about it being improved. IMO blind pick matchmaking has been the best recently. Very close matches and each team seemed equally skilled.

Ranked matchmaking is completely fucked up.

Ranked dynamic queues are fun for premades.... crap for solo or duo. They should separate team and full solo play.

That being said as a team it's very fun.

I had a 4 man premade who said they were going to FF at 20 no matter the decision. They also spent the entire game making racist jokes and really almost made me get up and leave the computer because of how disgusting they were

I truly thought back in s5 that Ranked will be so much better off if there was no premades period in Ranked, not even duo.

And then Riot comes and does shit like this for s6. There are a lot better games than League; I'm having fun. :)

i agree with this but for different reasons, although this is also a reason. the problem is that if you don't have 4 friends to play ranked with, you still easily get matched with 5 premades. i had the pleasure of enjoying that sort of game where their team was 5 man premade, mine was 3 man premade and 2 solo queue-ers. the thing is that without a doubt a 5 man premade over skype will have better communication and teamwork than any unknown stranger will ever have with it's teammates and thus making the game unfair in terms of ability to communicate. i think dynamic queue was good as a concept. but the problem is scenarios like the above mentioned one. dynamic queue is actually not helping with the quality of matchmaking, it's just moving the problem from not getting your role to having to be 5 man or significantly having less chance of winning.
