Can anyone explain me why is "series" still a thing?

You play rankeds, get to 100 LP nad have to play 3 games of which you have to win 2 in orded to get promoted to higher sub tier? Why? I understand the logic behind ranked division placements but I really cant find any logic behind the series thingy. This game has changed a lot, its not "solo carry" oriented as it used to be unless someone snowballs out of controll on specific champion in specific teamcomp like Kog/Lulu or Twitch/Lulu. Other than that, games are more team dependant comparint to what they used to be in the past and it really suck to lose your series at 100 lp just because enemy had overall better team. Like for example, I had series for Silver 1 and I got guus who doed more than 10 times in 2 games....Garen who died against Poppy at 1st minion wave and got stomped, etc.

I know I am not the only person who loses series, its normal but I also think I am not the only person here who thinks series should exist.

Any thoughts?

I've never personally supported a promos into a higher subtier (plat 2 to plat 1), but moving up leagues, i can call it fair (i.e: bronze to silver, silver to gold, gold to plat...)

i kinda like the series tbh and youre right in it not being a solo carry game but you can still unfluence people like ytouve always been able to do... .As a support peel that carry so they can deal more damage. As a mid laner roam? create extra pressuer and spread gold around the map etc.. as a top laner.. use that TP to roam or objective control!! help your team to achieve what they need to do :3
