Grasp is for Laners what Strength of the Ages was for Junglers

Back when SotA existed only the fewest laners could get it because stacking it in the jungle was just much more faster and reliable.

Grasp is kind of the opposite of that. Because of the fact that you have to be in combat for 4 seconds first before you can proc it, it sucks from the jungle. In lane you constantly can be in combat while fighting minions and you also always have a lane opponent to get your Grasp attack off. Meanwhile in the jungle you won't get any value from it until you gank and when ganking, you have to wait 4 seconds before you can even deal any damage with it, and it's not even that much considering that you'll only proc it 1 or 2 times.

I would really like it if it could get the treatment Fervor got last season. Fervor used to be stackable on minions which also created the same problem that Grasp has right now, being a little too good in lane and not good enough to be picked up in the jungle. What they changed about Fervor is that it wasn't stackable against minions and monsters anymore so you're only be able to stack it against champs while at the same time buffing its damage and reducing the stacks you need, which made it even for junglers and laners ( even though it was a little too strong on on-hit attackers for the longest time but they've fixed that too by now ).

What if Grasp got a little buff in either the time you have to be in combat to get it, the damage it does, the healing it does or a combination of the three and as a tradeoff, it will only stack in combat with champions?

This would really help with changing the Courage of the Colossus only Meta while at the same time giving something for those kind of bruisery dudes in the jungle who don't have any hard CC and kind of need it now that SotA is gone Olaf Trundle DrMundo .

Why Deathfire Touch on Trundle?

The only ability it would affect is his ultimate (so you basically don't have a keystone most of the time) and Trundle doesn't build any significant amount of AD or AP.

Your Q dose use it but it really best vs duelist

Trundle's Q doesn't apply on-spell effects and shouldn't be procing DFT.

If it actually is, then that is a bug.

Illioa W dose 2

Tested it quickly in custom games.

Trundle's Q didn't apply DFT (as expected), Illaoi's W did.

Odd.

Having it only stack in combat with champions would make it much weaker on tanks that have a heavy disadvantage in duels and would be stronger on dps focused dueling champions.

So it would actually help out juggernauts a lot, but how do you judge in combat with a champion? Just on you hitting them or can you get stacks from them hitting you? Skirmishers like Yasuo would heavily favor it as well since he's built to get in and out of fights as he pleases.

So it could work out, but like with CoTC it cuts out some more regular members of the resolve tree in doing so.

And the preseason jungle changes helped Yi so much his winrate dropped down to 46%.

Stop trolling the boards homie.

I think that was primarily because of the Fervor changes. Hope he'll be fine after the BotRK and Guinsoo's buffs.

Oh you're that guy.

Yeah I was wrong about Fervor, wasn't the first time I misspredicted something on the boards. With Fervor it was not only a hard hit because he generally makes more use of the on-hit than of AD than I thought he would, his E damage also doesn't update its damage while you're stacking Fervor, which kinda sucks, and I thought that it would do that too.

I still maintain that his clears are better now though.

If we go back to that one month old post, I'm a hot-headed guy and got ahead of myself. Could have stated my opinion without calling yours bullshit. It's also unnecessary for you to get back on the boards a month later just to call me a troll.

Can we just settle this? We can either have a civilized discussion about the game or get on each other's ass just because we got triggered by something some random dude on the internet posted a month ago.

Well said and you are right. No hard feelings.

Cheers dude.

Which on-hit attackers was it too strong on?

I have some kind of theory that Riot planned to buff Guinsoo's and BotRK for a long time now but were super afraid of Fervor just spiking the power of these items too much. Pretty much immidiately after they changed it from extra on-hit to AD they put those buffs on the PBE.

I think with old Fervor they removed the last factor from the game that could make on-hit champs broken again if they are made viable. It's basically the last thing in the long line of factors that got removed from the game and that weren't allowing on-hit carry builds to exist, coming after Feral Flare, Sated Devourer, old Guinsoo's and the Kog'Maw rework.

In hindsight I think that "too strong" were the wrong words to describe it, it's just that some champions like MasterYi or Kayle were making way too good use of it compared to how much other champions make use of their own keystones. Before the preseason, Yi's balance was entirely dependant on old Fervor and I only realized it after they nerfed it for him and his winrate dropped by 2%, even though his clear has improved.

Hope that explains it.
