"63 ping is unplayable" "its hard to play yasuo, lee and riven in a high ping" -Xwingsofdeath

Us east coasters had to bare with our high ping for the past 4-5 years. . . and the streamers never even thought about the east coasters playing in a 50-150 ping? like really?

I have been playing 73 ping for a long time now, and I literally never thought about complaining my ping even once ever since I joined and played league, the only time I complain about my ping is when I spike up to 150-1600, and you know what ping I actually consider to be high? around 150-200, anything below 150 is what I find to be playable.

sigh people these days :I

This whole server move has been most amusing. hearing west coasters complain about what used to be my ideal ping.

Most Amusing. and Interesting.

I live in Hawaii, and I literally cannot play League anymore. It's now around 120 on a good day, but it frequently spikes to 300-700. Not a problem on my end, as it only occurred after the Server Change.

WukongMain2 votes

you say on a good day its 120... but the new server hasn't even been live for 24 whole entire hours.

Espadara1 votes

It's a figure of speech. Before the change, it would be 90 on a good day. The lowest I've seen so far is 123, and I doubt it'll get any lower.

I've played in 130 ping forever and it's fine.

I won my last placement on 200 ping. The problem is the frequent lag spikes I'm getting, and the spikes to 300+ ping.

Linna Excel1 votes

Ah, 200 ping is pretty bad. I do feel sorry for your 300 ping lag spikes.

People will always find something to complain about.

"30 ping is unplayable" faker

I've been playing with 130 ping for ages. Anyone crying about ping in the 60s aught to be slapped in my book.

the higher your ping the more likely precision inputs will get ate by the game. both sides of the argument are right. West coast has been privileged. But ping in this kind of game is pretty important, i'm more happy it has equalized. It just sucks that the US doesn't have a fiber infrastructure so we can all have 20 ping

Linna Excel1 votes

I see where you are going here. I'd like to remind everyone that until the change occurred, people's precision inputs on the east coast where eaten without mercy. Now both coasts are averaging out.

Rueian1 votes

I know, which is why i'm happy for the change. I dont care about having my ping doubled, it gives more players an even footing. I'm just sad we cant all have it. Sadly the cost to improve our infrastructure as a nation is far to expensive, regardless of the huge connection benefit, could improve so many aspects of life within the nation, particularly cheaper internet prices.

Linna Excel1 votes

Yep. People forget that the US is a huge nation and none of the little internet providers like to play nice with each other, or offer customer support, or enable high speed internet after they installed 90% of the infrastructure they need to do so in your area.

True story, down here I'd love to get FIOS but I can't because version is being obstructive about it. They put it in part of my town but decided they didn't want to do that anymore because reasons. So I can't get it because I live 3 miles in the wrong direction. Same city, and a bigger one in my state, but the wrong part of the city. It's not like I'm in the boonies either. There are major retailers all around me and whatnot.

Service providers is another issue aswell. I mean even if we still had copper to the home, i am more talking about the major routes laid down across the nation, which arn't really owned by any one single service provider. I forget who owns the huge nodes. If those nodes were replaced with Fiber, even just that would drastically increase the nation's ping from coast to coast.

But then you get weak back ends like Level 1, which in my experience out here in the west coast is complete TRASH. They throttle my connection all the time when i'm playing FFXIV because that just happens to be the route my connection takes. There is nothing my ISP wants to do, and literally the only option i have is buying services like battle ping.

I'm near the coast and I have been playing with a 90 ping with little to no problems. A 63 ping is way more than acceptable.

Well, I live on the West Coast in California. I used to have 60 ping. Now I have 80. And it's fine. I notice the difference but it's not like it's horrible.

Erijian1 votes

I can't even tell a difference in 20 and 60 ping

whats funny is those same people stated ping doesnt correlate to how well u play a champ. now that they have bad ping they are changing there tune real fast and saying how hard it is to play x champ with there still very decent ping...

It's the change that matters not the flat ping number. If you get used to something for years and it changes it is way worse than learning that way from the start.
