Not realizing that what makes malzahar a failed design is the combination of his passive and his R, which leaves for incredibly small amounts of retaliation against him in many scenarios.
You have to rework malzahar, and in the process, either completely remove his current passive or completely remove his current R. Only then can he actually be able to be legitimately balanced.

I may be biased, but I feel like Malz is actually in a fairly good place, at least design wise. You could mess around with his numbers, but I actually like the way he plays right now.

how?. QSS will only remove the cc, the damage is still applied and if malz uses E+Q on yourself, and refresh E damage with ult, QSS won't save you
i'm not saying QSS is pointless against malz, it has its use and it's good but it doesn't make his ult pointless

Yeah, because everyone just wants to buy QSS.
It's not like qss is a wasted slot for mages, tanks, bruisers, supports, etc.
That being said, I wouldn't mind him keeping his ult if he lost his passive and got something else besides a free banshees.
