With the Preseason changes we have the chance to balance Morde and Jungle Items

Right now I really like the Preseason changes, for everyone who hasn't checked it out yet, here's a Link: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/VPBE

As the title already implies I see this as a chance to balance Morde and some of the jungle items.

First off it's Morde who kind of was forced into botlane and lost his presence in top-and midlane. In midlane he really does not have enough poke/range/mobility to compete with most meta mages like Azir, Veigar and Viktor and in toplane he has no dragon to kill. At the same time his experience cheat makes him ridiculous at botlane.

Now we have a legendary monster that is about equally as good at dragon and spawns early enough, while not being ridiculous as a ghost of baron would be. What I am saying is that Morde should be able to summon Rift Herald like he does it with Dragon. This would give him a reason to be toplane. At the same time we could remove the bonus exp from botlane Morde. While this will really hurt botlane Morde, if you really want to change the botlane from not being support and marksman every game you will have to change its basic mechanics rather than having only one champion to be a broken forced alternative.

At the same time Sheen will be changed into giving CDR instead of AP and Brutalizer is being split into seperate two items, the build paths of Warrior and Runeglaive are kind of gone like that. This could be a big opportunity. Both of these items had a problem of being not diverse enough. While Cinderhulk is a broad Option for everyone who wants to go tanky and Sated Devourer is only really a niche item of on-hit junglers, Warrior and Runeglaive right now are really limited to what champions can build them.

Runeglaive is actually a good item for the junglers who are able to use them, yet these are really only a few. Non-autohitting mage junglers like Fiddlesticks, Amumu or perhaps Karthus feel left behind, especially Fiddlesticks who can't even make use of Machete properly. With Hunter's Talisman we have fixed the problem of having a proper jungle start for AP Mage Junglers that fixes their mana problems, making an upgrade of it that can be built on them aswell would make a lot of sense too and help AP Jungler diversity.

Warrior on the other hand is an item that gives a lot of AD and Armorpen. Armorpen is a stat that is good early on because in early levels champions and everything else in general have low armor values. And because of deminishing returns of resistances flat armorpen makes champions who build it really hurt early on. This means it favours early game AD Junglers over late game AD Junglers, so Lee, Vi, Rek'sai and all the other champions of the early s5 terror. Lategame champions and those who really don't benefit from Armorpen since they have true or magic damage abilities or even those who want an alternative to Devourer are left behind. Eve, Olaf, Trundle, Yi, Tiger Udyr, Tryn, Nocturne and much more are examples of such champions.

While I'm hesitant to create an actual item becuase I'm bad with gold values, I have a basic Idea of what such items would look like. They would only give AP or AD as a basic stat and a burn passive that does magic damage on the AP jungle item and Physical damage on the AD jungle item. This could have a base value strong enough to be the only offensive item of the champ while mabye adding AP and AD ratios for champions who build more of those stats.

Would love to see your opinions and criticism on this, especially Malicous Metal's opinion on the changes of Mordekaiser if he ever gets to see this Post.

If I were riot I'd give it a try. It may be a tad too strong though seeing that the rift herald's really damn tanky and deals a lot of damage. Coupled with its buff Morde will roflstomp the lane easily.

And yet he'll have to get 6 first and get the bloody thing first so it might be a change worth considering. What's for sure is it being way less broken than the Drake clone.
