Now i'm going to ask my downvoted post again, from when Tahm was in PBE

The damage portion of his ultimate, WHY is it even in his kit?

It's free ridiculous damage, FOR NO REASON His kit already deals amazing damage for a brick wall and it's not like his kit has a mandatory black hole skill what is pointless...WHY?

Have you tried csing pre-6 on Tahm? that shits impossible.

Without this passive buff he would do near negative damage outside of his W, which is easy to avoid by kiting him, and his only form of cc before that is his Q which is a pretty predictable skillshot.

Tahm is fine people need to stop their whining over anything

he's a fucking tank Clearing waves and getting easy CS isn't supposed to be a quality tanks possess

Agreed some of these are arguably not tanks but I fail to see where you got that logic

Can I link Meddler's reply again? Because I don't think the reason has changed.

We gave Tahm Kench bonus damage on his auto attacks because without it he lacked enough of an impact in fights. That's an issue that champions with non combat abilities, such as Tahm's ult, are at risk of.

The passive's on his ult specifically so that he follows a similar power curve to other champions, with a significant power spike at level 6 in particular. Putting some, or all, of the on hit damage on his character passive instead resulted in a champion that bullied others hard in the really levels and/or got crushed once other champions hit 6. It's not a good thematic fit for the active part of the ult, but in this case we felt the needs of gameplay needed to trump going for a stronger thematic fit.

As far as overload goes I'd agree we've had some champions in the past year with a bit much on their kits. I'd disagree that Tahm Kench is one of them though, the number of discrete effects he's got going on is pretty trackable, doesn't diffuse power/satisfaction too much and gives a fairly broad set of levers to adjust him f needed.

I could be off here, so dont get mad :P but i believe it is because of the rest of his kit, his Q does a good amount of damage but isnt a huge contributing factor in fights other then a slow and a passive stack, his W, while it does really good damage, can only realistically be applied once in a fight due to cooldowns, and his E isnt a damaging ability. The passive on his R allows him to be able to contribute more to a fight then a slow and one devour. this is especially important in a solo lane because most tanks are DOT or relative low cooldown damaging abilities, but Tahm doesnt so the passive allows him to trade more efficiently.

People whine about Tahm because he's a good duelist. The trick is, he's devoid of hard engage, has no combat mobility, and can only do AoE damage by putting his W on cooldown.
