Is AP cho'gath still good

So cho'gath is actually getting bans due to the infinite stacking. You can play full tank or battle mage. Battle mage just means AP bruiser like ryze. You build any AP item that gives health. Cho'gath AP ratio on the ult got nerfed but by building like this and maybe throw in a warmogs and it will be fine. Now we have a tank that works like pudge in DotA where there's no limit to how tanky he can get except pudge is even worse. Presumably these changes that happened a few patches ago are here to tie him down until they rework him. They agree that his kit hasn't aged well while not being problematic. He sandbags lane and then peope exploit his weaknesses. Now it's not as big of an issue but it's still a problem. Another things is he's an absolute shutdown on combo champions. Riot also doesn't want absolute counters and that's why they want to rework him. Anyways is AP cho'gath still good.

No variation of Cho'gath has been "good" in the last 3 years or so.

AP in particular is even worse, since his W nerf and lower AP ratio on his ult.

Remember what happened in season 5 when ryze got reworked only to reqire a second rework and Katarina was a faceroll pentakill god. He was fucking everyone's shit up. He was a common ban.

AP Cho'Gath is still good. In terms of mid lane, it's a very strong counter to assassins.

Well - AP Cho is still good in doing what he did before, making Assasins cry.

Besides that - he always was a quite trolly pick because he usually get's kite to death by EVERYONE who does not need to be in his face to deal DMG. ^^'

Like I said. He's getting a rework in the future. The changes were kind of a band-aid as kind of a temporary seal. He still shuts down all combo champions completely. Remember s5 Katarina and the original ryze rework. Cho'gath was broken af because they were good tier. He aslo can still oneshot people. Especially if he eats alot of people. He's almost as slow as dismounted Kled.
