@Riot, Grievous wounds, Grasp of the Undying and/or Bandit changes in PreSeason?

I don't know if y'all got anything planned for these, but I'd like to suggest some changes here.

-_-

#Grievous Wounds

So with the stealth changes, you're changing pinkwards to no longer detect short stealths like Kha'Zix's ultimate. Which is great! Stealth is a core part of some champions' kits, and being able to just get rid of that strength because someone bought a cheap item is not healthy.

Are there any plans for a similar treatment for Healing based champions? Champions like Vladimir, Swain, Darius etc often feel overwhelming to play against unless someone buys an Executioners/morellos or ignites them. And when you do apply the GW debuff, they feel awful to play as!

I'm personally convinced this would create much healthier gameplay for both sides :)

#Grasp Of The Undying

I'll keep this one short. Grasp is made for tanks. Tanks desire survivability, not damage. I'd love to see Grasp changed so it no longer deals damage, but the % healing increases with level (Not a high amount on early levels, because that would create lane sustain issues.)

#Bandit

Could you change the ''Melees get 10 gold on hit'' to be on-attack rather than on-hit? This wouldn't change anything for the supports who are supposed to use it, but it would force Gangplank to use his Q on minions instead of using it to harass. (I'm predicting the changes to Armor pen items Cough Ghostblade Cough might result in some direct GP changes anyway :P) If GP ends up horribly underpowered, buff him. Even if he doesn't change in terms of strength, it'd be an improvment for his healthyness as a champion.

Grievous Wounds is fine as is. Executioner's Calling is 800g, and while it neuters those champions, there's really nothing else that counterbalances them, meaning that if GW is changed, they go out of control. Darius is already out of control if he gets ahead, so giving him a way to outlive everyone without repercussions is inconceivable. The reasons Pinks are being changed is because they cost 75g and invalidate a whole mess of things without counterplay. Grievous Wounds does not have the same level of hindrance to healing champs, because it doesn't flat out erase aspects of that champion's play.

As for Bandit, that change would ABSOLUTELY hinder tank supports. Sometimes, you can't get into actual attack range, so you're forced to poke with other abilities. Taric's E, Nautilus' Q and R, Thresh's Q and E, Tahm's Q and W, Braum's Q and R, Alistar Q and W, Blitz's Q, Poppy's Q, sometimes W, E and R, Nunu's Q and R, Shen's Q, and Sion's Q, W, E, and R. All of these champions in the support role would lose considerable gold income just because you think Gangplank is getting too much gold. This is an unacceptable change that would do more harm to way more champions than stopping the one who's not even abusing it.

... Obviously, it would require balance changes for said healing based champions.

...You do realise Bandit only works on Melee AA's, right? It has nothing to do with Tahm Q, Braum Q etc.

As someone who play a fair amount of healing-based champs, I can definitely say that GW basically removes whatever influence I have from the game. My role is largely to soak damage via healing, but suddenly I don't get to use 40% of my effective kit because a stray Runaans bolt hit me, regardless of how much health I have.

Grevious Wounds is a terrible solution to a problem mostly created by shit like Soraka. Dr. Mundo get's to be virtually unkillable for 12 seconds because he's a melee, mobility-less Champion who actively kills himself while he uses abilities, and who's primary chasing tool can be bodyblocked by a tank in a teamfight. Vladimir gets to have the sustain he has because it revolves around him timing his abilities correctly and landing good ults in teamfights, at the cost of his primary sustain tool being on a minimum 6 second CD (two Q's, assuming one is already charged), being the shortest ranged mage in the game, and being a glorified cannon minion that's kinda hard to kill for the first 20 minutes of the game.

Imagine if - with a buyable item for both AP's and AD's - you lose 40% of your AP, or 40% of your AD, or a shitton of AS or whatever other stat you primarily rely on to do...anything.

i like your grasp idea

though some damage is nice id much rather it be something like

2% damage

5% heal scaling with level so it could start out weak like 0.5% or something

Tanks really lack good in combat sustain options and are functioning like sacks of healing for lifesteal abusers

tbh sustain champions need reworked to the point where executioners can be deleted. Grievous wounds shits on sustain champs but if you don't have gw you'll likely lose to them. The dichotomy is too shitty and it's not fun for either party, especially when you're a support and your mid and adc wont listen to you about buying a simple item to fight the mundo or when you're a manaless ap champion and need to buy morello's just to combat heals. Just rebalance the champs with lots of heals to fight on a rift with no grievous wounds.

Honestly if they want self healing to be easier to balance then they'll have to remove, weaken, or heavily change spirit visage's passive.

I think a bunch of things would require changes if they were to remove GW. But I also think it would make the game MUCH healthier if done right.

I both agree and disagree. The sad truth is that a lot of stats may go in the way of Spellvamp because they are what make or break certain champions by kits alone, leading to balance nightmares.

The downside is that this can remove some very unique items and stats from the game.

Ah Grievous Wounds, a mechanic more cancerous than the champions people say it works on. I honestly hope for a way to balance healing without making it "No GW? Vlad and Swain trample your team. Have GW? Vlad and Swain are now irrelevant because healing is a major function of their kit." It affects other sustain champs like Zac, Aatrox, etc, but the point still stands that the mechanic is incredibly unfun to deal with.

I had it in my mind that sustain champs beat dps, burst beats sustain, but that would perhaps make champion metas even more polarizing if you needed an exact playstyle to beat a champion.
