"for a very long time, many mage/AP mid players have struggled with AD champs"
Oh yeah you mean that 1 patch where maw was strong then nerfed and ad mids are now troll picks for like 9/10 of season 6?
LUL mage mains

i'm personally happy about edge of the night being a thing, and waiting for the rylai nerf
however
ulti should be buffed if they do this.
Mage mains diverting the attention of rylais to new item thats not tested yet LUL
They don't seem to realize is a far, far inferior version of Zhonya's. lol
Ermegerd, my zed wasn't able to tank and oneshot you after for half a season. must buffffffffff!
Thats why you should have played malz or cass tank and one shot carries and dps down tanks
Nah I'm fine playing mages that require some sort of skill.

Isn't that exactly what all the Mage players on the boards whine about too? "Waaaah, we only get Zhonyas which has tons of AP and Armor and is universally good for every Mage at some point in their build." "Waaah, I got bursted by an assassin even though I can do the same damage from fifty yards further away."
I could go on, half of the boards are so self absorbed in their mages and THINKING they have the worse end of things at all times, it's rediculous.
If we get more item choices and zhonya gets nerfed I won't mind.
That would be fair. Zhonyas just gives so much as one item right now and has a place in every mage build. If the power of zhonyas was cut a bit I have a feeling Riot wouldn't mind adding more AP Armor into the game, like moonblade or something.
That's probably wishful thinking.
Zhonya is rather a too strong or too useles item. It's never wrong on ppl like Vlad and Kennen because the first needs it to survive dives and the latter because it brings a toxic advantage without the fear of counterplay. Other mages will use it just to delay what will be 70% of the times an unavoidable death or to deny an assa dive.
The last use it's fine and also the use which Vlad makes is right because it's an addition to their gameplay. In preseason Assassins will have an entire new kit just from their items, they will get a smaller Yi ult, ward reveal, castable banshee's veil and qss too if needed which will make your rodinary non-assa mage unplayable just because the items in play and not because the AD assa had the right timing in dive/dodge/outpoke and this is what mages players as me are whining about.
They gave Assassins more tools to do their job because they, and I can't 100 percent confirm this as of yet since it's not live, reduced their burst pattern timings and left open more natural counter play against them.
Take Talon for instance, he doesn't even have a blink anymore.
Also can't mages still buy the new ward too?
Is the new ward bound to an AP item that also gives an explosion on targets hit by a skill/aa?
Riot is not nerfing Assassins they are bringing them in line with the design of "clear strenghts, clear weaknesses" that mages have had since long ago.
Mage mains complain a lot when they too have powerful burst combos... and range.
It confounds me.
Why are people downvoting? He's not wrong.
