Is Bard Still Considered a Roaming Support?

I don't really see him as such. He only really roams into the nearby river on occasion, but never really visits other lanes. Is this considered ok? I know Brad is balanced and plays well right now, but wasn't he supposed to be a roaming Support?

Was this information gathered from a bard documentary or something?

He's not suppose to be an absentee support. Just not sure if the concept of roaming is misunderstood or if you just watched one bard hide under tower once.

I main Bard and when he was released he was said to be Riot's take on a roaming Support since Alistar used to roam into other lanes and gank, but that was found too powerful and was removed as a strategy. Bard doesn't have Alistar's engage power, so I was wondering if Riot intended Bard to not roam as much as old Alistar did.

I find that Bard usually only roams to get mana back from Chimes (or later on just to power up Meeps during off time) or if his team specifically asks him to come help, which isn't true roaming in my eyes.

Yeah the old absentee supports that just ganked are gone due to the changes in xp gains and gold gains that make supports relevant level wise and have more than 1 item late game. Bard is suppose to be aggressive, get priority bot lane than be able to gank mid and be back home before dinner.

Yes, I know that. Bard is very good at getting the lane to be in his favor since mana is often a pseudo-limitation for him and his kit allows him and his partner to be aggressive in lane.

HOWEVER, my point is that, when Bard was released, he was sold as a Roaming Support. I was asking if this was OK from a design standpoint for someone released for ONE REASON to actually end up being picked for ANOTHER REASON, but in the end still being a fun and ok experience to play.
