PSA: if your team has a tank top&jg and not a corki adc...
please don't pick yasuo/zed mid.
please don't pick yasuo/zed mid.
Tanks are, more often then not, magic damage.
League thinks Tanks = Moderate Damage + Slightly difficult to kill (when they should be low dmg, hard to kill)
So 2 tanks = 2 mid-level magic dmg. Support will likely have mostly magic damage at that point, even if it's just a Janna. A lot of ADCs also have SOME magic dmg (MF's abilities, Corki, KogMaw, Ashe Ult [plus rageblade, if going machine gun], etc.)
So yeah, go Zed or Yasuo mid. It'll be a lot better for the team comp overall, ESPECIALLY considering one of the tanks is likely to be Malphite as of right now.
I dunno.
It seems like Malphite/Nautilus/Maokai Top, Amumu/Gragas Jungle and Annie/Brand/Vel'koz Support are plenty of magic damage and CC for our team.
Maybe I should pick an AD champion mid to prevent them from stacking MR.
if u wanna rely on a tank who usually build 1 ap item to be ur main magic dmg source, sure.
Are you saying that a team with a magic-damage top laner, magic-damage jungler and a mage support requires even more magic damage from their mid-laner?
Are you saying that it's better to have four champions on a team deal magic damage (several of which can't itemize percentage magic penetration effectively) instead of hybridizing your damage?
I did, after all, list three different roles while using an "and" to connect them. That typically implies you have all three roles (top, jungle and support) with magic-damage dealing champions at the same time.
"tank top&jg and not a corki adc"=3sources of magic dmg in ur view? i dont understand ur logic.
Are you denying that Malphite, Nautilus and Maokai are top-lane tanks which deal primarily magic damage?
Are you denying that Amumu and Gragas are jungle tanks who deal primarily magic damage.
That's three sources of magic damage already on a team. In that given hypothetical situation, you have a "tank top&jg".
Even if you have an ADC who isn't Corki, that team already has enough magic damage that an AD mid laner would be beneficial.
Quite frankly, an AP mid laner would be detrimental to that team composition since it would allow the enemy team to stack MR, which would reduce the damage of anyone who couldn't itemize percentage magic penetration significantly.
doing primary magic dmg=/=does enough dmg to be a dmg threat.
your logic: alistar does primary magic dmg galio does primary magic dmg maokai does primary magic dmg alistar+galio+maokai not building ap will do enough dmg to force enemy to buy magic resist
a team with 2tank 1support 1 mage 1 adc will always do more physical dmg than magic dmg. because all champions other than a few exceptions do physical dmg with aa.
