"Rate of change" is TOO LOW, in that there's never enough fast followup

Do you realise how freaking long you left us drowning in the consequences of preseason while you were on vacation? Hell, we're still suffering Caitlyn's overbearingness from preseason 6, when is it going to be addressed? Day to day balance is too slow, you need to be quicker with smaller nerfs, and pile more up when needed. Bandaids immediately (as long as they're moderate) make for a better game and make solving issues easier when you don't have 5000 cases of imbalance hanging around because "nah let's wait and assess".

Example, we all know Aatrox can't be strong until his rework. But old Poppy was more unhealthy and yet she was not kept as weak. Why must he be stuck for THREE YEARS being the weakest champ in the whole game? Why not giving him a couple stat buffs by a couple points? Or a slightly faster/wider Q? Whatever minibuff you can afford doing in 30 minutes one day, then in a patch if he's still unplayable you do another. Until he's playable. Not strong, playable. How hard is it to tackle EVERYTHING instantly with a heavy feet approach, instead of waiting for years before completely remaking ONE thing?

I hate the idea of meta with over 130 champs, and only a small portion of those seeing any kind of play. I stopped playing league awhile ago because I felt burnt out, and sick of seeing the same junglers, and toxic play patterns every game. Auto fill and a rushed remake system only added to the endless list of problems. At least they brought back solo que sort of.

To little champ redoes or reworks leave some of my favourite champs in almost unplayable states. DrMundo Soraka Evelynn Akali

This game just isn't the same as it was in season 4.

Aatrox isn't the weakest champ in the game. He is far from it.

Apart from the couple times when it was Nunu, Urgot or release Ivern, I think he's been it.

Nidalee, Ryze, Azir, Vlad, Tahm, Bard, Gnar, Gragas, etc. Look at the winrates of champions. Aatrox is far from the bottom.

Wait, I'm confused. If we're looking at "weakest characters in the game", why did you suddenly mention aatrox (a character with a concise kit and ability to 3-shot pretty much everything at lv1) when urgot (a character with a kit that makes absolutely zero sense and does about 30% of the damage of an ezreal during all stages of the game) as one?

As for the rate of change, I'd actually like to see it slowed down quite a lot (like 1 patch every 1-2 months). Far too often, characters are buffed/nerfed without letting the meta settle down first. Because of this, things that could be considered OP (azir) are nerfed into the ground without letting counters pop up, meaning that when those counters do eventually arise the damage is already so severe that they see almost no use after that. On the opposite side of the spectrum, things that are considered "underwhelming" could suddenly become sleeper OP for months on end, not receiving any nerfs as barring a slight increase in usage there'd hardly be a way to tell. Longer waits between patches could alleviate this problem, and make the game a bit more balanced/get rid of all this constant "10 characters are undeniably better than all the others" thing that's manifested for a long time.

You answered yourself. Low rate of change. Can't backpedal, can't do more step by step changes instead of waiting until you've already been panicking for half a year. Result? Bullshit game.

Also, Urgot has had ups and downs in power, while Aatrox has been pushed up in the rankings only when others have had crisis..es?

I'm a relatively new player to this game, so I might not know what I'm talking about, but I agree with you on some of this. Instead of waiting so long to buff a character, why not just give the champion small buffs over shorter periods to make sure that they are at least a little bit playable?
