It feels like Galio is losing his solo Lane.

Most specifically his ultimate. Whereas his identities have remained mostly in tact, he now locks the ability to use his ultimate in a solo lane. This feels like riot's trying to push him away from mid/top into the support. (and possibly the juggle role) He feels very similar to a buffed shen with more range and CC, and that's the epitome of a support/tank... thing. I'd just like some sort of option to use his ult by himself in some sort of caliber. I'd like to not lose the ability to play Galio as I used to when I climbed to platinum with top lane Galio. Rito please.

("Perhaps he gets a 1.2 second delay then smacks the ground knocking up enemies only directly under him while doing damage in a smaller circle than normal.")

I've been looking for a cc heavy jungler with good countergank potential. He looks perfect for that role. I plan on picking him up and trying it.

He's a warden/vanguard. Those kinds of champs almost always rely on allies because they lack the damage to really capitalize on their own cc. I'll bet you can still use him in solo lane, but he will become a roamer. However, I do like the idea of selfcasting his ultimate, making him about as viable in solo lane as Nautilus is.

I think they actually classified him as a warden/battlemage hybrid.

How does his ultimate kill his solo lane potential? Especially when he has the whole rest of his kit that works pretty well for solo lanes? He has poke, engage, lockdown, AoE damage - even some modicum of escape if you can use his E right.

In respect to his solo lane? It's power they've had to remove out of his constant kit and place into a conditional slot.

I've been playing him pbe.... He lost way more than lane potential.
