So I played a game of DOTA

Mic chat in league would be aids,

some guy was bashing me and everyone else (remind you the game I was playing was my 2nd one EVER with real people) and he on the other hand had 3.7k MMR (which I am assuming isn't super high tier but decent). The dota community ingame is the same as League. As much as I would want mic chat, my lord I can not stand having some guy scream "GANK MID" all lane phase or "You're all so f****** bad".

I have played a lot of Dota 2, and while I agree that some people are the worst to have on your team and using their mics, there are, at least in my experience, not many game like that.

Yeah. In honesty, as much as I hate to say it, those who go out at people are usually because they are doing something wrong and those people are reacting poorly to it. People in League just rage at anything they can at. I have only had 1 match in Dota 2 where someone was openly getting angry over the mic and no where near half as many matches over chat than in League. I'm not a fan boy before you think it. I play both equally, but I must say I like the Dota 2 community more and I HATE this stupid rivalry between the two games or ANY MOBA. Who cares about Smite, Dota 2, or HOTS. THEY ARE ALL GOOD AT WHAT THEY ARE. Don't bash on them because they aren't League.

Agreed, but I hate so say, the Dota community is just as bad as leagues.

Just tell everyone that your mic is broken (because you turned voice chat off) and that they have to type if they wanna talk to you.

I hate DotA2 for a different reason though, it runs like AIDS on my garbage tinker box called laptop. Shame.

Oh and the shop and options/other features menu, way too crowded for my taste.

I know how you feel; I tried to play on a laptop during a recent vacation. If performance issues are the main thing holding you back from DotA, you could try running it on 'low' settings in the Reborn (now the regular) client. It removes most of the computer-intensive 3-D objects from the map, making it equally as resource-draining as the League map (in a good way).

That sounds cool, I can give it a bash or 2 later.

Just mute them.

While I've never really played DOTA, I have heard the community is about as bad as League. Which leads me to believe that the MOBA community in general is rather toxic.

I played some Dota 2 here and there.

And from my experience, people don't do this much.

Can't see a reason to -keep- playing dota once you play league of legends. League of legends is a Far better human and game experience than dota, despite league being technically inferior under some aspects.

shit do they actually do that?

Yeah, that's something annoying about DotA 2.

And there is no way to mute them, at least I havent found one yet

do you know how to open the tab? top->left 2nd or 3rd icon

then you see a mic->click in order to mute

I never understood why people want voice chat built in the game where there are tons of voice chats programs such as curse voice, skype, ventrilo, raidcall, and others that are easy to install that my grandma could learn how to do it.

But did you mute him? I suppose the real question is why didn't you take responsibility and use the tools given to you before going to the forums about how another tool is helping somebody give you problems

Mic chat works fine in CS GO.... yeah people rage but thats not really all the frequent and you have a mute button, I'm assuming DOTA is the same...
