Rework Shen support

Is is just me, or does it look like Shen support will be god-like after the rework? If you land his combo, it should be an auto kill almost every time if the ADC is any good.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks. Thanks.

For a few reasons:

  • First, full tank shen looks like a meatsack with a wet noodle sword. He has utility, but almost no impact on the game outside that. Shen's new kit is designed to make him tanky by avoiding damage, not by building pure tank, and taking advantage of his shield and his W means that the best builds will be off-tank rather than full tank, probably with an emphasis on CDR, attack speed, and HP.

  • Second, Devourer helps him proc his Q more quickly as well as the damage from Titanic Hydra. Additionally, the Titanic active allows him to proc three sets of on-hits almost instantly with Devourer dealing up to 21% max health with his Q, 50 +12% of his own max HP with Titanic, 180 magic damage from devourer and 200% AD in less than a quarter of a second, while allowing him to build three more tank items and boots. Additionally, he'll instantly restore 120 energy with that combo come late game.

  • Third, almost all of Shen's damage is auto attack based with the rework. E is a moderate nuke and Q is an on-hit effect, so the attack speed and on-hits of these items do far more for his damage output than having 6 or 7 extra on-hit damage from cinder hulk's synergy with Titanic and the 26 AoE damage from the aura. Again, the extra health Cinderhulk offers may seem nice, but it's overkill with the way his shield and W work.

Basically, these two items together do not impinge on his durability in any significant way while drastically increasing his burst damage as well as his DPS. Because of this, it is a much more optimal build path than Cinderhulk.

There is one problem with your logic that I've noticed his Q should not Prock with devour Similar to Reksai

It is an on-hit effect like Xin Zhao's Q and functions as such. If you want video proof of the build in action, check out this video: ✔ DEVOURER SHEN REWORK JUNGLE - PBE Live Commentary | League of Legends

its like getting a thresh combo off or leona and alistar, just depends on the scenario at any given time [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] He should sit pretty well in the botlane not being to overpowered.

his all in seems strong but without harass it also seems super risky to pick him.

ExecutorDill1 votes

Eh.... his harass was abysmal anyways.. Once you've had experience with his new kit and know when and when not to go in you should see great results.

Disclaimer: I am not a good player.

I thought that a lot of Shen's supporting power was from the regen on his Q. Am I wrong?

The regen is great, but his ability to CC both the ADC and support together is where he really shines.
