Nerfing Zed and Talon

When Riot was giving context for the Duskblade of Draktharr's Creation, they stated that many AD assassins were given forms of damage amp or things in their kit to help them get by with less gold, or less effective gold.

In Talon, this shows up in his bland passive that outright is a massive damage amp against targets that are CC'd in some fashion.

With Zed, this is the passive on his W, that gives him %bonus AD (I do believe its 25% bonus AD at rank 5)

This means, that these assassins had ways to maintain their presence.

However, now that Riot is planning on giving proper itemization options to assassins, It's time to actually nerf these "Bandaid" parts of the assassins kits that make their kits so broken now that they have proper itemization.

ZED: W: No longer a Rabadon's - passive Component changed from 5/10/15/20/25% bonus AD to flat 10% at all ranks.

Talon: Innate: NEW - Avoiding Death. Talon's history fighting assassins gives him the ability to avoid death. After landing 5 instances of damage on a target, or killing a champion (Q DoT doesn't count, but auto+Q counts as 2) Talon gains 25% movement speed for 3 seconds, and is stealthed for 1 second. I don't have a "reasonable" passive for Talon, only that his current one needs to be removed and a new one given to him.

I don't personally think they need changes yet.

But I don't like the proposed talon change regardless.

As abilities like that give you at best 5 secondsish to get stacks before it resets, you would only ever get the passive on an all in, which usually includes an ult with stealth already (and movement speed?)

Talon doesn't trade for that long generally cause he is squishy. Plus 3 seconds of the bonus mivespeed is pretty long compared to most other mivespeed boosts( like ekko or ahri), perhaps too long.

And I just don't like another random second of stealth anyways. People will cry about lack of could terplay and pinks would be kind if a waste as a method of counterplay.

Just my thoughts.

It was just a proposition, Riot has said that Talon's passive is boring and is just extra power into his kit to fix poor itemization options.

Zed one seems pretty legit. Maybe more like 15% though. Or maybe just nerf it to 5/7.5/10/12.5/15% bonus ad. I think that 10% is buffing his early game a bit too much with a flat 10% bonus ad at level 2. I like the idea though (I main Zed lol)

Idk about this new passive though. I feel like that gives Talon too much power. The part of Talon that is weak is the fact that he has no way of getting out of a fight after going in. Giving him this new passive effectively rids him of his biggest weakness while shaving off a bit of damage. I think that reducing the total damage amplification would suffice.

I really like the idea of the new passive though that'd be cool af.

i'd be willing to go 6/7/8/9/10%, but I won't take it over 10%.

Ok, what about 10% bonus damage on auto attacks is massive? Why would riot nerf an already trash passive to begin with?

Riot won't nerf it, they'd outright replace it. It's simply there to add more power to his kit because of a lack of proper itemization.

I don't think you understand. Talon's passive adds very little power to his kit, the reason his passive hasn't been changed is because his kit and numbers are balanced around him having a weak passive.

as I said, Riot's going to outright replace it when they do the assassin subclass project and give him a new one. They find Talon's passive fairly boring, bland and adds just invisible power to his kit, (even if it's not that much)

I get what you are saying, but I think any significant change to his passive would probably be considered a buff not a nerf.

Except, having a passive that's not just invisible power, and is an interactive passive, means that the rest of his kit likely will end up with minor nerfs to make sure that Talon doesn't become the top tier assassin that stomps out all competition.

as a Zed main, I think this is healthy

The bonus AD late game really doesn't help that much with killing and really only makes him easier to abuse
