Champion.gg - League of Legends Stats by Champion Role for the Current Patch

3 Champions at over 55% winrate. This is honestly hotfix worthy. Kayle doesn't even have nerfs on the PBE, and the Kog'maw nerfs seem really insignificant, even getting compensation buffs when at 56.68% winrate. Ekko also gets ratio increases, meaning that with 67 AP he does the same damage as without building any AP. Now his build changes so that he builds one AP item, say maybe Zhonya's. That does not make his winrate drop from 57.47% down to something reasonable like 53%. For reference, there are 15 champions above 53% winrate, meaning that someone who plays these champions but would normally have a 50% winrate is now more than 6% more likely to win, factoring that teammates exist. Just having this champion on your team makes you 6% more likely to win, and having them on the enemy team means you are 6% more likely to lose. That is simply unfair, and needs to be addressed immediately. You shouldn't be 15% more likely to lose because you are playing against tank ekko.

Rito pls, hotfix the game when a champ is above 55% winrate and make sure there are heavy nerfs to get them in line. You got it right with Fiora and now Poppy. Please don't hesitate to nerf champions that are doing ridiculously well for all players when they are supposed to be difficult to play.

Scarizard and Ghostcrawler went on record during one of the LeagueCommunity streams that statistics sites ("especially champion.gg") are unreliable and Riot has more comprehensive data.

I'd especially encourage you to keep in mind that this is the BEGINNING of the patch. As more games are played, the stats WILL change.

even if they are inaccurate, the champions are simply too strong, and they really do need nerfs. this may be the beginning, and the numbers will change a bit, but they will be fairly similar by the end of the patch. tank ekko with a 57.5% winrate now is simply unacceptable. even in the 1-5 ranked games category, he has a 54% winrate. in the 15-50 category, it's a whopping 61.62%. even if the numbers aren't perfect, they are WAAAAAAYYYY too high and something needs to be done ASAP.

No, the numbers can change a whole lot. I remember a few patches ago, the one before they implemented her blind I think, I was shocked. Quinn's winrate increased from a really horrible 43-44% at the beginning of the patch to a pretty decent 50%.

And honestly, I don't think Ekko is strong as much as frustrating.

ekko is WAAAAYYYYY too strong rn. 57.5% winrate is never a good thing, no matter whether or not it's at the beginning of the patch. it seriously needs to be toned down, as shown by the nerfs on the pbe. i just wish they would push some of the changes to live so that he won't ruin the rest of the patch from his overtuning

Kog's compensation buff is meant to make his Q more relevant than 'put points in this because you have to'.

And the nerfs to his OnHit damage are quite a bit bigger than you might think, especially at levels 1 and 2. Also keep in mind that Rageblade is getting some changes coming down the pipe, so gutter-stomping a champion who is getting a core item altered in a few patches might not be the best plan.

Adjusting Kog's power through his base OnHit damage is probably the safest way to balance him, given what a knife-edge champion he has been since his remake.

that is fair enough. i hadn't really considered the changes to guinsoo's. i still wish they would do something more immediate because 56% winrate is simply unacceptable for a game like league where every champion is supposed to be about equally viable (most champions are within 47-53% winrate, which is a good state of balance). these outliers, especially on the high end, reduce the fun of the game so they should be hotfixed at such high levels. if they want to be careful, so be it, but they should be taking some action more quickly imo

I don't disagree.

I'm Kog main. Have been since his first free week. And I don't like it when Riot over-tunes my favorite champ. These past few moths have proven that it's very difficult to tell what small changes will do to Kog since his balance is so knife-edge. Honestly, he was fine before Riot moved his attack speed to his W. He was consistently hovering right around the 50% win rate and people who mained him were doing decently. Sure he wasn't played that much. Yeah, he could be fiddled with to make the late game blooming really work. But I think I'm alright with Kog's current standing as the mid-game dominate ADC who levels off late game rather than dropping off late game like the lane-bully focused folks tend to do.

it's really a shame how kog'maw is right now. i honestly think he needs a rework including a new passive if Riot wants to make him a more sustainable champion. the recent reworks have been very interesting, and even if they were too strong, at least they were more balanceable. idk when they would get a chance to work on him, but I think it's really his passive and W that need work. like maybe his on-hit damage could come from his passive scaling with level, and then his W acts as an attack speed steroid, which would really amplify his power curve to be a late-game scaling champion. idk since i don't play him, but i would love to see him not be so knife-edge all the time, either being way too strong or way too weak

The knife-edge is because Kog does damage and nothing else of note. So if his damage isn't far and away eclipsing the damage of other Marksmen, there's no reason at all to pick him because of how unsafe he is. If Riot wanted to make Kog easier to balance, one easy way would be to ease off his OnHit damage and make his resist shredding much more central to his kit.

That's (sort of) what Riot is doing on PBE right now. But I would love to see that aspect (softening up hard targets) turned into Kog's main draw as a pick rather than just a thing he does when he can't invest in W or E anymore. Because let's be clear here. 'Does all the damage' really isn't a terribly compelling hook for an ADC. All ADCs do tons of damage.

yeah. the armor/mr shred would be more appropriate for him anyways because he vomits over everything and corrodes their armor. the idea of a "protect the kog" comp has always been pretty interesting to me, where one hypercarry can do all the damage for his team as long as he is protected and enabled. it's a shame they can't find a more sustainable way to make it happen
