Marksmen stats just don't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Tanks have their specific stats: Armor, Magic resist, Health, and health regen. (Mana can also be in there, but in most cases it doesn't effect them tanking too much.) Mages have their own: Ability Power, Mana, and Magic Pen. (Magic resist to a lesser extent as well.) Fighters have: Attack damage or ability power, attack speed, health, magic resist, armor and Movement Speed. (While they also build sustain in most cases, many of these champions have inherent sustain build into their kits.)

Now marksmen are something special indeed. They have Attack damage, Attack speed, critical chance, armor pen, Lifesteal, and Movement speed...... "One of these things is not like the other" "Can you guess which one?" I'm seriously at a loss for why movement speed is in marksmen's kits. IMO it only serves to exacerbate one of their most problematic aspects, especially in today's Meta. Whereas Riot has done some real work by removing attack speed from item 3142 I just don't think we're quite there yet. I don't know about completely removing movement speed from their kits, but I do know it should be a very expensive stat to invest in. It shouldn't be a simple trade-off like between item 3072 and item 3153. This should be a much more profound choice with obvious circumstances.

I would accept the movement speed IF we could cut back on mobility in kits. Ezreal arcane shift no longer effected by Q reset. Caitlyn Net trap slows herself half of what she slows her opponent. Serious kick back and all. Vayne When CC'd pauses the cooldown of tumble.

These likely wouldn't be the chosen solutions, but this is what needs to happen. Serious changes without necessarily breaking the champions. (Then we could keep fighters a little more CCable, and assassins much less slippery or safe.) But hey, that's just in a perfect world.

Bloodthirster and BoRK are definitely not comparable.

Bloodthirster gives you 20% lifesteal, a ton of AD, and a passive where lifesteal can overheal you for a shield.

BoRK gives you 10% lifesteal, basically no AD, on hit damage, and an active to heal you and deal some damage to an enemy and steal some movement speed every 90 seconds.

No ADC player in their right minds would ever buy this massively inferior item unless the enemy team had literally like 3 tanks, and even then there are options that are cheaper and give more damage (AHEM Lord Dominik's Regards).

In addition, they do have somewhat clear times for when to buy them, though I feel like BoRK needs a buff to make it the true health-stacking tank killer ADC item. Nobody buys it anymore because of how little AD it gives, and it could easily be reworked into a much better item.

Finally, that is the only item that ADCs have to buy that gives movement speed, save for a few picks on a few specific ADCs (looking at you, Trinity Force Corki and Ezreal, and Black Cleaver MF). ADCs NEED their inbuilt mobility because the rest of the game is so mobile and they're such prime targets. Immobile ADCs are often weaker than mobile ones just because of the stick potential of everyone else in the game. Immobile ADCs rely on their flash for their survival, and when it's down, they're often the first to die in any teamfight, especially when the enemy team has a powerful assassin or burst mage. Now, right now, yes, Twitch is the strongest ADC in the game (yay! my main is op!), but he's also very reliant on his flash, to the point where I would even argue for running Insight on him for the lower cooldown.

ADC stats are: AD, crit chance, attack speed, % armor penetration (rather than Lethality), and lifesteal, at least in terms of what most ADCs will itemize for. Movement speed is itemized for in boots, but everyone buys boots (except you, Cassiopeia, snakes don't need boots).

Would you like to know why no one builds bork anymore? Because crit has simply crowded out all of the other options. Most secondary crit items just offer a ton of mobility which easily outweighs the need for a more sustained kit and subsequent fight. item 3087 item 3094 item 3085 item 3046 This is why you never see bork anymore.

"ADCs NEED their inbuilt mobility because the rest of the game is so mobile and they're such prime targets" Mobility is easily the worst cancer plaguing the game as it progresses. But hey, sex sells so to speak, riot had no choice but to implement mass amounts of it into the game to appease the new kids that were the target audience. So no, I don't believe that ADCs need mobility, and I think we should really cut back a TON on mobility as a whole. Twitch Ashe MissFortune JhinJinx KogMaw (Ashe as of late has fallen in win rate.) These champions all have decent to high winrates and they're either completely immobile or very situationally so.

Most classes of sustained damage dealers have good access to bonus in-combat movement speed - they need that to keep in range/keep the enemy out of range.

ADCs have the Zeal items. Melees (Juggernauts, Skirmishers, Divers) have Deadman's Plate, Triforce, Black Cleaver and Zz'rot. Both classes have access to Blade of the Ruined King.

"they need that to keep in range/keep the enemy out of range." The question then is; why? I believe it's far too dangerous to allow marksmen to become too independent. Dueling 1v1 is not the role of a marksman but a fighter. Marksmen should be a much more team reliant champion that can burst when properly positioned and defended. This concept seems to be fading quite dramatically as of late.
