I absolutely love the Illaoi changes BUT they didn't do anything to address playing against her

So Illaoi has been just kinda bad until these changes, she definitely needed some love, but you buffed her without addressing the problems her kit creates and you created a new one.

So the vessel duration reduction was a bad mechanic, I agree with it being removed BUT in removing it you removed the counterplay other than "dodge E". Here's the thing though, E is fat. It has a bit of a cast time but the first few frames of the animation aren't really too noticeably different from the rest of her animations, making responding to it near impossible. It's mostly on Illaoi to miss it (and on the player to keep sidestepping randomly to throw off her aim due to that cast time).

On top of that you let the ability cool down during the pull, which past level 3 just gets kind of nuts. She should be rewarded for landing them, and this "win-more" mechanic is definitely something I agree with existing, just not in its current state.

Here's my suggestions:

  • Reduce the width of her E
  • Remove the ability for E to cool down during use and replace it with 4s off the cd on landing E

That's about it for now. Shouldn't hurt her too much but it should give her some more reasonable counterplay. Once again, really like the changes, but you have to also think about what the opposing player is dealing with.

Her E is already the skinniest of the hook skillshots

I don't think she's performing at a level where she needs a nerf but the easiest and probably best change would be reverting the cool down buff it got back to 20 at rank 1. That way there's more leeway to punish her when she plays sloppy
