Newsflash, Junglers gank.

But sometimes, they gank too much. Yes Riot has pushed the jungle more into the territory of Junglers ganking, but that doesn't mean that they're being hypocrites when they realize "woah hey, it's a little overboard, things need toning down".

And it's a good thing that Jungle is more focused on ganks. Remembering Feral Flame Udyr? Devourer Yi? The powerfarm junglers who didn't interact all game until 25 minutes, where they come out guns blazing? Riot has tried to steer away from that since the removal of Devourer, hence why they have pushed Junglers more towards ganking.

Junglers have always been a supportive role in the sense that they help all the lanes, whether by ganking, or securing buffs/objectives. Powerfarming Jungle pushes it as a carry role, which should be a choice you can make, and while the ganking Jungle may be overboard, it's the best idea that combines what Junglers are truly about.

I wonder why they gank too much. Not like bot towers are weaker or anything.

That's true too, but some could argue the jungle right now encourages that. Krugs and Raptors take a while to do, so you clear blue side and just hop bot.

It's more likely the new up-coming jungle is going to force jungle into lane for the first minutes of the game rather than the other way around.

Smite does something like that. The junglers give the laners the buffs, and then the jungler chills in their top lane for a level or two, retreating back into the jungle after that.

That was my tactic when i was still pre-level 30 and had no runes. Donate blue to mid then back, to top for some levels, and then i could actually farm the jungle.

Because the Jungle respawn timers are ridiculously long. The only choice is to gank because there literally isnt a jungle to go back to

Except it isn't a choice you can make. At least not a viable choice.

Junglers being able to decide the game's outcome by themselves is not healthy for the game. They're not "a bit" overboard.

Also junglers has never meant to be a supportive role. As you mentioned yourself, there's carry junglers.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

Should change that to "Should be a choice".

And yeah, Junglers, regardless of Carry or Tank or Ivern, are supportive in nature. They gank other lanes, which helps take pressure off. They can, emphasis on can, give out buffs to help out lanes, and help with taking Dragons, Barons, and Rift Herald (HA), which overall, helps everyone on the team. I don't mean support as in Support, but their job does help other people.

MIddle lane can roam to both sides of the map and gank as well. Top lane can teleport and roam too. That is honestly invalid. Most junglers are not "supportive in nature" hence categorizing some of them as even assassins. Some junglers require farm, they're not supportive in nature either.

You're taking what i talk about support as in Support role. I don't mean that, but how junglers play and kill in the game helps other players. Ganking mid lane and killing the opponent gives your mid laner the farm advantage, and it eases off pressure, even if you're an assassin.

Shyvana, despite not being as proficient in ganking, is commonly in the enemies jungle, putting behind the enemy jungle, forcing duels and likely forcing people from lane to come deal with her.

And yes, while Top and Mid can ganks and roam, that is not the basis of their role.

ZILLAGULA1 votes

Oh yes, some mid laners rely on roaming. Twisted Fate, for example. Let's take Shyvana and move her into middle, shall we? She's now a Ziggs. Despite Ziggs not roaming, he set behind the enemy laner and took the enemy laner's tower. That gives gold to his whole team and he set behind the enemy mid and doesn't let them roam. Now he's not supposed to be supportive, but with your logic we can make anything supportive.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Ziggs is going to try/do that anyway. That's his job Mid. And this is called a team game for a reason. When a team member does well, you gain an advantage well, since that person can now help others. That's just natural.

Junglers are supportive, because it's their job to go into others lanes, and help kill their opponent. It's their job to secure buffs that will benefit the team. They have their own Class Job (aka Tank, Carry, assassin), but how they operate, rotate and play, the jungler is the team's support, as the Support is the Adcs.

Depends on which jungler. Not all are played the same. Some like Shyv arent heavy gankers but are counter junglers. They take the enemy's camps or invade duel them to set them behind so when your team fights Shyv will be 2 levels up be a force to be reckoned with

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Hence why Shyv is more a carry jungler.

Kilanost1 votes

Eh, Shyv is more of a powerfarmer. She can be classified this way because when played at her best, she's basically stealing half the enemy's jungle all game long. Only champ I have that can keep pace is Udyr and thats only in phoenix really.

Just fuck Shaco. He's too bs, because I have to ward further from the bushes in order to see him without him just stealthing through the ward, but then that means I have no vision in the bush, and I don't know if he left and went into the river or if he's still hiding in the bush.

Udyr Did someone say feral flare? YASSSSSS. Don't forget to give me my innervating locket while you're at it.
