The problem with League of Legends

We see a late game champion all inning an early game champion and winning through his ignite AND full fury.

So let me ask, if this scenario is possible why, and I mean why in the world would anyone pick Renekton in this day and age?

Lane bully? As you can clearly see, that is NOT the case, because Irelia can beat him even at his strongest point THROUGH his ignite (MUHH IGNITE IS SO OP PLS NERF btw).

If Renekton didn't have his ignite ready the fight wouldn't even been close. Oh Irelia "OUTPLAYED" him, okay, and how was Renekton supposed to outplay Irelia in this scenario? Dodge her stun? Renekton is melee, those stuns are gonna land 1 way or another.

Clearly the line between "late" game and "early" game has vanished, with the introduction of Gangplank rework in S5 we started seeing the trend of hyperscaling lane bullies poisoning the top lane such as Kled, Irelia, Camille, Viktor etc

Which is a fine design choice by Riot, but in that case, they should buff the late game of champions that are known as "lane bullies with crappy late game" because clearly they have no advantage at any point of the game anymore.

Also, bonus passive gold, minions being worth next to nothing also affects these so-called lane bullies negatively.

Not to mention a huge % of your power coming from the runes themselves, not just the champion kit / gold advantage anymore.

That was an example of a late game champion being controlled nearly perfectly beating an early game champ who did nothing right AND ONLY JUST BARELY. I don't think 'being an early game champion' gives you the right to misplay everything and still win.

Note: I'm not saying LoL is in a perfect state right now. Just that your example does not show that it is NOT in a good state.

Misplay everything? The ONLY misplay here was Renekton using his empowered W during Irelia's W and that's only 40% dmg reduction which ignite and the fact that he is using an early game dominant champion should've covered.

He used his main abilities with fury, which should've given him a considerable advantage as well, considering fury takes time to fill up.

What are you talking about exactly ?

He didn't dodge stun, he blew his big empowered nuke during her damage reduction, he didn't try to dodge the damage output of the fully charged W. He stunned her during her 'uninterruptable charge + damage reduction ability', meaning his ENTIRE STUN meant nothing because she still had her damage reduction, and she didn't LOSE anything from it.

He misplayed. He screwed up, and he paid for it. That's how it SHOULD be. If you want someone to believe you when you say there's something wrong, you have to provide me an example that shows something being wrong.

She stunned herself also during the wind up, and again, the damage reduction is ONLY 40%.

So, in order for Renekton to beat Irelia he has to dodge every stun, play it perfectly unless he wants to get all-inned through his ignite by Irelia?

Now show me a clip of a lv18 Renekton outplaying a lv18 Irelia. Oh wait, you can't, because she can literally AA him to death and there is nothing he can do to beat her even if she misses all her stuns and ulti as well.

You Riot apologists always make me cringe, this Irelia had the balls to all in a full fury renekton with ignite and long sword while she had corrupting potion (arguably a worse all in 1v1 item).

You really can't make this up, you are going to defend this no matter what and not realize that the "MISTAKES" Renekton made his ignite, fury, superior item choice in the scenario and the fact that he had full fury should've made up for.

This clip is an example of Irelia perfectly - using their abilities all at the absolute ideal time while Renekton failed to account for what Irelia was doing, and wasting their abilities. If Renekton had saved his stun for after w wore off, he would've won. Full stop. I twouldn't have even been close. If Renekton had dodged EITHER the w or the stun, he would've won. In those cases it probably still would've been close. If Renekton had done all three of the above(dodged stun, w, and stunned after w wore off) he would've made Irelia look like an IDIOT for trying to attack him. However, he didn't. He screwed up. And that screwup meant that Irelia was JUST BARELY able to beat him by the SLIGHTEST of margins(Irelia was like 15 hp at the end)

What you're basically saying is "IF I am renekton, it shouldn't matter how stupid I play or how many mistakes I make, I should beat an Irelia early game regardless of what I do or what she does". That is not a game I want to play.

To be clear: I don't hugely like the way the game is right now. I don't think it's as bad as some claim, but I DO feel that damage is too high, and I feel that that is particularly noticable in teamfights.

Lol i can't believe what I'm reading

Ya, I guess it must be hard to believe anyone would dare use logic on your outrage. I'm sorry. I forgot I was on the internet... Reason, rational thought, and logic have no place here. I'll see myself out and let you continue your outrage.

Nah I just think it's funny "she hit her skillshot so she's supposed to win" xD

Eleshakai1 votes

No, she hit every aspect of her kit perfectly, and he wasted his biggest source of advantage(the stun + damage on that ability). And even given that, AND her getting the first strike, she still only just BARELY won.

Honestly, I think your clip shows nothing more than that these two champs are actually balanced pretty well. Renekton is very much stronger in the early game, but not SO MUCH so that he doesn't have to think to win. She overcame him due to good use of her abilities and him misusing his. Additionally, she had more minions helping her as well, which also makes a difference and was ACTUALLY what killed him at the end.

Having more minions for Renekton's Q to heal off of? That kinda goes into Rene's favor honestly

And not to mention Renekton had PTA and she had Conqueror (which she didn't proc till like half the fight) and her bone plating was on CD. Also she had no passive stacks

Keep going tho, I'm finding you amusing

One q does not outdo the damage of like ~5 seconds of 5 minions attacking him at level 4. I'm sorry. But no. Low level champs take a LOT of damage from minions.

At high levels when he has some items, ya... but at level 4 with virtually no items? No. You're vastly underestimating the amount of damage the minions did. Especially since the minions were what killed him. I think she even made a point of killing one of the minions at the start, reducing the damage she took from them, but I can't definitively say that was intentional or not.

I'm not saying the damage minions did is insignificant, I'm saying the difference that 2 more minions Irelia had was insignificant due to Renekton's Q healing more
