Assassins literally have no purpose in the game anymore because every single one of them has been nerfed into oblivion and riot keeps releasing champions that can fuck them over with a single spell like Ekko, Tahm Kench or Kindred back to back. On top of that, bruisers are so strong right now that they can just walk all over them like a door mat. What good is an assassin right now except splitpush and maybe kill 1 or 2 people if you are lucky? This just doesn't cut it if you are looking to climb the ranked latter. Personally, I have already dropped several assassins from my champion pool (Talon, Akali, Zed) The ones I do still play like Yi I find myself forced to build them like item 3153 item 3139 item 3931 item 3047 item 3022 item 3053 so that he can actually kill people instead of run around like a bag of 300 free gold for the enemy team to pick up. So now when people are complaining of mids taking teleport now can assassins finally get some love? The reason why peopleare taking tp mid is that they have nothing to fear since assassins aren't around to punish them for it anymore.

That is already a lot in this game! Taking out a single member of the enemy team for free is a huge deal in all but the most disorganized of games. What? Is your idea of viability measured only in number of possible pentakills?

Also isnt this basically labeling an Assassin properly? Killing 1-2 high priority targets swiftly and then being decent split pushers while nothing is happening?

Assassin's are still more than capable of doign their job. Assassinate someone. And last I checked, going into a team fight and getting a pentakill isn't the definition. No offense but Assassins are balanced now, since in the past, they could just wait to go in and get a triple or higher with ease.

The whole point of an Assassin is someone that picks off people 1 by 1. Assassinating people. Excelling at solo fights, and being totally awful in teamfights. Look no further than Rengar, as much as I hate his burst, he is the perfect example. He will jump into a teamfight, kill one person then instantly die. That is how Assassins SHOULD work if they try to go into teamfights. They should be awful in it but people cry when they can't 1v5 on something that is meant to die to any type of retaliation.

I am sorry your precious Zed isn't able to fight entire teams anymore or your precious Katarina can't just jump into a group and R and get a penta anymore. That wasn't their jobs and it was removed from them. They are meant to kill high priority targets then be done.

Have you not seen how Zed was a few months ago? Back when him or Leblanc was constantly picked for mid? Look it up and you will see very easily he could. That nerf to his ult made all the difference.

A. Fizz was played a lot since he could actually counter it soo.... Also still doesn't change that it basically forced you to pick him due to how overbearing they were. Not healthy.

B. Mages were gone from mid lane during that time period, it was assassins only. LB and Ahri only got a free pass since they basically act like an assassin in the first place, burst before you can react. Even so, it still wouldn't stop Zed since he would just simply wait for you to come out of statis.

C. Dead serious, when have you actually seen someone do that? During that time it was whoever could burst faster won.

So, killing 2 people, by yourself, is considered bad? Honestly, the concept of an assassin in league is always going to be stupid. They are usually designed to 100-0 someone, sometimes even quicker than a human can even respond, and get out but still remain useful for the rest of a fight.

yi isn't a assassin hes a melee carry

the only assassin thats really any good right now is ekko because he functions more like a melee carry or a melee mage.

I'd add in the word 'against' between play and right. Unless you're talking about nocturne, he can't accomplish much except split-pushing unless he's purposely fed several kills.

This forum hates assassins lol.... if you are baddie who doesn't know how to build zhonyas or position in a teamfight then yes, I would imagine that playing against an assassin is neither fun or rewarding for you even when they are at their weakest right now.

Zed and Leblanc were awful. Every damn game. My bro and I would always do team builder and kick out any midlane assassin. In the best scenario either the enemy assassin gets fed and kills everyone at will, or your assassin gets all the kills and starves the team. Every game was zed or leblanc vs each other and feeding each other until they both could just kill the entirety of the other team and made games feel horrible. Assassins are toxic and I am glad if they are in decline.

I mean they are assassins, they are supposed to find someone out by themselves and ruin their ass. Though yes I do agree that they are very underwhelming most of the time

Fizz with a lead is perhaps the most terrifying thing in the game. if he has 40% cdr, he can get 2-3 rotations of his spells off, even more if youre good

Khazix Only awful assassin in the game. Can't go anywhere but jungle, and has laughable damage, along with a non too clear item path

Iv taken him & rengar top and been pretty successful against darius & such haven't played much khazix tho so hes still up in the air

Assassins can't carry by themselves anymore and they are underpowered.

That horribly designed class doesn't need to be buffed.

so playing leblanc, diana, zed,yasuo,fizz,ekko are not rewarding and are just free 300$ gold? And im just listing of the midlane assassins here u obviously have no idea how to play assassins in teamfights
