Frozen Mallet [Rework Concept]

My ideas here will grant an entirely new look to Frozen Mallet! It will be an upgrade item out of a new pre-requisite item, upgrading similar to something like Manamune to Muramana. The new Frozen Mallet will help make champions be sturdier, help them initiate and play-make, stick to targets, and stay in the middle of the fight.

Chunk of Ice: Recipe: Ruby Crystal (400g) + 400g = 800g

Statistics: +250 Health +UNIQUE Passive - Solid Ice: Take 15 less damage from Monsters and Champions. +UNIQUE Passive - Thickness: Gain +5 Health whenever you take damage from Monsters and Champions (occurs once every 5 seconds); gain +5 Health every 10 seconds; maximum 750 Health.

Ice Pick: Recipe: Chain Vest (750g) + Chunk of Ice 800g + 450g = 2000g

Statistics: +250 Health +40 Armor +UNIQUE Passive - Solid Ice: Take 15 less damage from Monsters and Champions. +UNIQUE Passive - Thickness: Gain +5 Health whenever you take damage from Monsters and Champions (occurs once every 5 seconds); gain +5 Health every 10 seconds; maximum 750 Health. +UNIQUE Active - Ice Climber: Cling on to target enemy champion and pull yourself to the location. Dealing damage to or taking damage from enemy champions lowers the cooldown by 3 seconds. 60 seconds cooldown. Range 600 units.

Frozen Mallet: Recipe: Ice Pick (2000g) + Fully stacked Thickness (750 Health)

Statistics: +1000 Health +40 Armor +UNIQUE Passive - Solid Ice: Take 10% less damage from Monsters and Champions. +UNIQUE Active - Ice Climber: Cling on to target enemy champion to fling yourself to the location to slam a mallet into the ground causing a 400 units shockwave around you when you land to stun struck champions for 1.25 seconds. Dealing damage to or taking damage from enemy champions lowers the cooldown by 3 seconds. 60 seconds cooldown. Range 600 units.

*So with all said and done, Frozen Mallet is still forced into a late game item, just instead of by gold it is mainly by game time and by interacting on the map. The reasoning that the Chunk of Ice stacks upon Monster damage is so that junglers can easily be able to purchase this item and not feel like it will take the full 25 minutes (over 30 minutes in the game as a rushed item minimum) to get the item fully stacked to obtain Frozen Mallet status.

Let us talk about the changes here, Frozen Mallet is no longer a CC by passive for my ideas, but now it is a gap closer and CC once you get Frozen Mallet status. So you can purchase Ice Pick early for that aid in play-making potential for that gap closer to get in the middle of the fight to start a fight out / actually get to your target. With the cooldown getting lowered upon taking or dealing damage to champions is to encourage the user to want to be in the middle of the enemy team in order to attain stickiness and be frozen onto your target.

So when is all said and done I am moving this line of items to be a utility play-making and very tanky item for tanks can make those game changing plays! Plus as a jungler having Ice Pick will be very useful for the gap closer for the mid game to make your ganks that much stronger. If you want to fight around dragon, then instead of having stale-mate poke wars, you can actually jump into the enemy team to start off a fight!

Overall, this line of items is to create a very defensive heavy item that is really really good at starting fights and staying in them which is the overall goal I want to achieve with these items / new Frozen Mallet.*

Hope you appreciate the ideas, and have a nice day! ^.^ ~ Stacona

...The entire reason frozen mallet costs so much is that the permaslow passive is considered toxic.

Adding literally every stat a tank could want while making the item cheaper doesn't solve any problems.

Is there ANY tanky frontliner in the game who would not rush that item? All three defensive stats in a single item makes the thing a HUGE no-way, no-how. It is also about a difference in how resistances works versus how health works - resistances make you tanky against a specific type of damage, while health makes you tanky in general, independant of the kind of damage you take (with the possible exception of %-health damage, which is the intended counter to just building raw health).

Also, you completely disregard WHY the slow on phage was removed and Frozen Mallet's buildpath was changed to be unviably inaccessible - the fact that any accessible permaslow in top lane basically wins the lane in itself. Look up some of Xypherous' old posts in the archived forums for that.

Or, let me give you a pointer: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=40135096#40135096

Honestly I like the idea of an active on Mallet. It might sound stupid to say, since so few champions use it, but it's actually one of my favorite late game items to buy. I'd love it if it had an active that functioned somewhat like Randuins, an AoE CC of some sort, but I think a one second stun is a bit much to ask for. Perhaps a flat 50 or 60% slow, alongwith the small leap to an enemy champion. Or better yet, remove the AoE and make it so it immediately leaps to an enemy champ when used as an active, solving the issue that many champions who would otherwise build it have: getting to the enemy. After that all they have to do is keep auto attacking to keep them in range.

I have to say thank-you; you are actually someone who can give constructive feedback; but not only give feedback of a human being which this community struggles with doing, but you can actually leave a comment that is not about pooping on the poster and basically (directly or indirectly) calling him an idiot for publicly sharing ideas that happen to differ from someone else.

Anyways, you have given me an idea to expand on Frozen Mallet to being an active gap closer and play maker and to remove the passive entirely. I am going to change the above post after I finish writing this of turning Frozen Mallet into some kind of stipulation / quest item (kind of like Archangels and Manamune turning into Seraphs and Muramana) and make a completely different pre-requisite item that you buy early and transforms into this really powerful play-making item later on known as Frozen Mallet
