Runes Reforged

Riot reveals the path system for Runes Reforged

I have an idea regarding new runes, that is particularly one of them. AS you can see on the link provided s called Store Credit: You can enter debt to buy items. The amount you can borrow increases over time. Debt limit: 150 + 5/minute. Lending Fee: 50 gold per item. I see weak early game champions using this rune, for example Nasus . Now as the game progresses, and the debt is repayed, these kind of champion usually outscale others. What would happen with Nasus is that he would continue to split push in order to stack Q (and increase damage potential), however most of the gold gained wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of 1v1-ing the opponent's top laner, cuz he would regardless still win the duel even without additional items. Here's where the idea comes from - what if the champions that use this rune are allowed to give some of their gold to their teammates? It could be used with a carrier of sorts (Dota style), or just leaving it at the fountain.

P.S. If the idea sounds good, gold could be capped per individual and/or without a limit if the gold would be the whole team (equally per individual, like turret global gold).

Interesting but here's why it could be a problem.

I'm a support main. I operate with a fraction of the gold others do. It's why my kit must pack cc moves, because no gold effects that. The little gold I do get goes to items that help others but have actives that validate me even existing (like a support vs second marksmen or bruiser).

Now anyone packing a "give away gold" rune means I should literally only buy items after sight stone once I've capped my entire teams gold limit or they've 100% finished their builds. Because a top laner 1-2 items ahead, or even just finishing one before an opponent, has a lot higher chance of snow balling that small lead into a larger advantage. Not guaranteed, but likely.

I'm fairly selfless as a support main. Give minions, turrets, kills, and my life in case of a danger, but LET ME HAVE WHAT LITTLE GOLD I HAVE!!! Let me do what i actually pick this role for. If I was then forced to give even at 500 gold per player, that's 2000 gold! That's one of the three items I only get an average game! With no cap, I'd buy vision wards, a sightstone, and nothing else and feed my team the gold. This is the pain of a Support Main.

Who ever told you that you majority of supports would use this rune, let alone that it would be expected of them to donate gold? Furthermore, I presented the case with Nasus as he doesn't need to scale by farming for gold, rather Q stacks, meaning that he always have some excess gold due to his (splitpushing) playstyle.

Well, that's the thing. For Nash's you right it could be a fun rune and strategically helpful. A rune like that could be fun for a lot of champions.

But here's the cruel reality of support. People want you to be sorraka, Nami, or Taric. Which is fine, but play Lux a game and then every bad thing is immediately you fault for taking a single kill. The job is designed to give.

So in a perfect world, you wouldn't run it on all supports. But if a support can give, they have to give, or the enemy adc will out scale faster. And I think everyone seen the gap that happens when an adc gets ahead in a game and has at least half a front line. It's not that the rune would be designed for supports, its that the adc would need the support to have it.

It's a good idea, but bigger picture of gold sharing will always have supports involved. There's a reason it's the least popular role because its name could be "the role that gives away".

I do get what you are saying, the scaling of marskman is indeed the priority when the comes to supports, however these full utility low damage supports aka Janna Soraka Nami aren't that great at the moment i.e. they are not used in the professional games that much. Even these supports would be able to use this rune, I think it may only improve their gameplay, since giving away is already their specialty (and they are designed for it). I don't know why would anyone like to have large amounts of gold on any of these 3 champions since they cannot buy anything that will involve themselves as carries, they only buy more utility items (that also serve to keep adc alive). And since they already got respective kits designed to do that job, I find this rune (even if used for donating gold to marskman) still viable and not destructive towards support role. In my opinion you would still see Zyra being played, TahmKench , and all other that aren't that defense only oriented.
