A way we could end the mobility creep, and maybe balance champions for a change.
COUGH
...Ehem.
So league has been around for a long time. Back in the day, you at least had some variety and just a few meta sheep. Nowadays, meta sheep and the professional players basically run the show. If it isn't a "balanced meta champion" They're just going to get nerfed.
So the mobility champions have the same damage (about) and far superior mobility to immobile characters. Characters like
and
have disappeared almost entirely. But does that have to be the case? Why should champions like
be rewarded but characters like veigar thrown into the dust?
Here is my proposal: The more immobile the champion is, the harder they hit for. For example, take veigar's Q:
80+ 60% AP at level one. Since veigar has no escape if he misses his stun, or is up against another mobility champion, he would count as one of the more immobile champions. So in return, veigar receives a buff. Since veigar already deals with mages very well, not as heavy as others, but something like: 100 + 65%/70% AP at level one. Ending from 260 to maybe something like 350 base damage. Skill shots on immobile champions should get a heavier reward since they are harder to hit. Lux shall be the example here: 60+70% AP at level one. Since this is a rather easy thing to dodge, I would say something like... 90 + 85% AP at level one.
You could have them scale better into late game with better ratios, more base damage, more tankiness and health compared to mobile, there are a multitude of ways. What do you guys think? Should the immobile return to pack a punch? Or good riddance to them?
Please note the numbers are EXAMPLES. I am no developer, nor do I have experience. A bit of clarity, this would mean** perhaps **slight buffs to characters with weak mobility, like graves.
Has a 3 second snare as well as her ult stun.
Can drop a stun on anyone from any of her spells.
Global stun with slow added on, not to mention perma slow Q.
Pull, knock up, silence...
Knock up, silence.
Ect and so on.
