I feel ranged champions are too dominant in todays game
And the only melees viable are those with either insane damage at all stages of the game, high mobility, massive tankiness with mobility, or all of them combined.

You're skirting around an issue the game dev team has mentioned a few times. Melee fighters are very hard to keep in a healthy state. Their relative power level is very 'slippery', because they need to deal damage and take hits. So you have to give them enough defensive stats to let them deal the damage they build for (i.e. Riven, Yasuo Shield, Yi Meditate) and/or give them enough damage when they build mostly tanky to be an actual threat (i.e. Vi, Renek's high ratios, Amumu's ratios). Fail at the former and they die before they can do anything and fail at the latter and they are just ignorable.
As such, Fighters have always had a weird place in the metas so far. They're either overbearing or getting to be or underwhelming and frustrating to use. Sometimes both when considering it across different skill levels.
I'd like to add that if everyone here reads the 4.20 patch notes they'll find this wonderful new item, Righteous Glory.
PREACH! In all seriousness he's right. Bruisers have been a pain in the butt to balance because they have to compare damage-wise between carries who have a huge range advantage whilst assasins have the ability to 100-0 you in a few seconds. To make up for this, Riot has made Bruisers a big ol ball of stats (
etc.) This has lead to bruisers being a pain to balance because if you leave them unchecked they deal more damage than carries whilst being 5x as tanky, and if you nerf them in the slightest assassins and ranged carries take their place. Riot has been promising a bruiser rework forever, but nothing has been revealed to us. I expect it to be ready around the same time as East Coast servers, so about 2017.
@title: Play a ranged champion then.
No seriously, it goes both ways. Ranged champs as a whole are not OP (there may well be individual exceptions but not the class as a whole). If you think ranged champions are better, it probably means you don't know how to melee as well, so play ranged.
A team needs different roles fulfilled. Ranged champs will always be one of those roles as they can be protected by using their range to place tanky allies between them and danger. They can use their range to take towers late game without getting piled easily.
That doesn't mean they're op, try doing these things without a melee ally. Am all ranged team will get wrecked by an all melee team of similar skill. Without an ally to protect you, you're worthless as ranged (late game). You need to identify that your role as melee is to either

Yha and when yasuo walks in the room with braum support they all run in terror.
I know I would....
And what do they do when the late game hits and the enemy team has a tanky front line and strong poke of their own and a five man ranged team is forced to back peddle to their fountain because they don't want to get dove.

Lol, go ahead and try, see how many games that wins you.
O-o actually no, a team does not need a melee champion like it needs a ranged champion. There are plenty of team comps that can work with 5 ranged champions but not a single team comp that works with 5 melee. Ranged as a whole right now is far superior to melee and just ignoring the unbalance and playing a ranged champion doesn't make the problem go away.
I disagree, I think that a healthy balance of both is the best idea, and there's really no denying that. Sure, i guess 5 ranged champs is better than 5 melee champs, but if you are thick enough to pick 5 melee against 5 ranged then you kinda deserve the loss. At any rate, a team with a good mix of ranged dps and melee tanks/fighters would easily beat either team comp.
Except when you're Najin white shield and you run a 5-ranged comp and win against Korean pros. At the professional level ranged toplaners are beating melees except for Irelia(who's designed to be anti-ranged), the most popular supports are ranged(thresh, janna, nami), midlaners and adcs are almost always ranged(or have enough ranged spells to never use their melee autos), so the only melees are the junglers and even then junglers that can poke or have a very long-range effective engagement are the most popular(Kha, Elise, Lee).

The problem is that while a healthy balance should be what wins the game, ranged champions are simply much stronger than melee right now. The fact that melee are so much weaker than ranged that you can say "you deserve the loss" for picking 5 melee illistrates exactly how large the gap between ranged and melee are. Not only are ranged champions better than melee, they are so much better that only idiots would even consider picking melee heavy comps.
Also, a 5 range comp of something like ryze/elise/syndra/lucian/janna can stand up to any "good mix of ranged dps and melee tanks/fighters" and win well above a 50% clip.
Nope. You misunderstand what that point that i made was. the point is that 5 melee champs cant beat 5 ranged champs. This does not mean that the ranged champs are better. Id rather have a good mix than one of the other anyday. But go ahead and keep complaining about ranged champions until they nerf them into oblivion and the only thing you can do in league anymore is charge with your melee champion into 4 other melee champions and all stand ontop of each other attacking. sounds really boring to me but hey thats just me.
Solution: 450 is now the lowest auto-attack range any champion has.
Ah, come on, downvotes?
You and I both know that Yi throwing swordboots at people would be hilarious.
As an all around player, I must say that ranged champions only dominate in certain areas. I'll ADC some times and notice that tanks and a few assassins are able to just eliminate me within a few clicks.
Also,
and
do a lot of close range attacks.
Ranged is fine, but mobility is OP. Aka
, in comparison, Varus and Twitch wise is less of a threat and easy to deal with.
I have to say, when I think of mobile ADC,
is not the first champ that comes to mind...
Her net lets her slow the enemy and go over walls. It is a valid option.
Plus her huge range
Range is not mobility. I love
for her range; I find her net hopping situational at best. I'd love to have a way to cast it without the knockback so I can use it as a CC that doesn't then hurt me when I need to use at range.
I have to say, when I think of mobile ADC,
is not the first champ that comes to mind...
Reset jump upon kill or assist
Now that is mobility!
Well she should, so I don't see your point. Are you trying to exhibit some faults with your reasoning?
How is range Op? Just to help you out with ADC's autoattacks here take these bud.....
,
those two items pretty much Nerf AA all together, thorn mails passive returns 30% and gives u 100 armor, and the boots decrease AA by 10% and then give 25 armor thats 125 armor with a 10% reduction and 30% returned with 45 MS in just two items. Congratz you just pretty much killed ever AA reliant champion in the game.
Yes they nerf AA so much that a late game tristana needs to auto you 7 times to kill you from 5.
ranged top laners killing the game.
I agree, Ryze, Gnar, Nidalee, Kayle, Lulu etc, are all very difficult for bruisers/tanks to deal with.
Yet Renekton and Volibear can deal with Ryze easily. Even Shen can deal with Nidalee solo, especially after her AD ratios nerf. Renekton can also deal with Lulu, and she'll try to switch with mid to avoid me but I'll still follow my free kill to mid lane. Gnar wasn't bad to deal with at first, but his buffs made him more of a pain and takes longer to kill now. As for Kayle....I strongly hate Kayle/Jayce. Fucking double melee/ranged champs. Now those 2 are cancer, especially Jayce with his retarded 6 abilities.
Renekton and Volibear may be able to beat them, but Nidalee Lulu Kayle Jayce Ryze and Gnar all can do stuff outside of lane and scale well.
they still block their AA even on Ryze/Lulu/Lissandra, what they don't protect against on those are abilitys/spells. If the OP is worried about ranged spells/abilitys he's completely insane and should quit playing since I believe every champion in the game has a ranged skill.
As for you and your trio here take these....
and
Remeber there is a counter for everything..... ecp a Nasus with 1000 stacks
Gold player here can confirm no counter for 1000 stack nasus.
Gold player here can confirm no counter for 1000 stack nasus.
^ wonder how long that game lasted lmfao
I was the nasus I have rep for making it to 500 by 30 without a Sheen. We had a veigar and a nasus so we just decided to farm till we KNEW nothing could go wrong veigar had over 1k ap that match.
It take you 30 to reach 500? you should be at at least 700 by then :c
Except for kiting. Doesn't matter how hard he hits when he doesn't have dashes and the support will just use mikael's on your slow.
Thornmail Warmogs works somewhat well against 1k stack Nasus... maybe try Kalista, she could probably deal with a 1k stack Nasus; I imagine her passive will deal well enough with Wither.
Next time you play, count how many melee champs and how many ranged champs are being played. Usually its 3/2 one way or the other, with an occasional 4/1 one way or the other. The tank is a melee 99% of the time, and the adc is ranged 99% of the time, while other roles switch back and forth.
When they want melees back they will just buff Randuin's Omen. They over-nerfed it.
assassin > almost all ranged champions
Bot lane snowballs too fucking hard it's ridiculous. Even if said melee champions don't feed and are ahead of their lanes, Lucian, Jinx, Corki, Vayne Draven (to name a few) snowball ridiculously hard to the point it doesn't matter if you get close to kill them, you just die.
Add that to the fact you can't build tank and survive unless your name is Maokai, and that supports would be there to peel in case you make a mistake as ADC.
As an ADC main i can tell you bot lane snowballing needs to be toned down, is ridiculous how ADCs nowdays quickly take over games specially when it's not even hard to do so anymore. Even AP mages atleast have windows of weakness due to cooldowns (though zhonyas is still BS, specially when snowballing)
...And as a support main I cant tell you how easy the snowball can be to kill. Nothing like getting a double kill and having a half decent jundle/mid reguardless of how fed they are come shut you down then proceed to poop on their lane and snowball out of control...
How bout them assasins that are 3 levels above you and can destroy you? (looking at you, Zed)
Nonsense. The effect you are describing is explained by having four champions in a single lane. Put two champions top and it snowballs just as hard because they have more available resources. In short, stop giving the enemy double kills.
riven udyr master yi lee sin wukong vi katarina
riven udyr master yi lee sin wukong vi katarina
wtf, lee sin falls off hard late game, kat isnt really melee, riven is OK late game, master yi is a hyper carry... and udyr is good cause of his tankiness+feral flare. Wukong is ok all stages, all he has is his ult for cc in teamfights. we are talking about all stages of the game.
Katarina is melee and your denial of an easily verifiable fact does you no credit. I understand it makes your case easier, but cherry picking is not a vaild debating strategy.
Riot decided that 10% more base stats would balance out 500% range it's not like ranged champs don't have dashes and cc either
It's not about ranged vs melee. It's about having gap closer vs not having gap closer. MF is screwed by Kha'Zix, just like Garen is screwed by Vayne.
