Riot think you could give Font of Life any kind of base value scaling? The current #'s suck

oLnPeVerna··15 votes·7,498 views

A flat 5 plus 1% of YOUR Max HP doesn't equate to much if any healing to your allies even if you invest heavily into HP and somehow grab 4000. Think you could up the numbers a bit or at least make them scale?

Like 5-30 + 1% Max HP? Anything to make this Rune provide any form of healing at all?

Its definitely a very low impact rune, which is frustrating.

I take it on Zac. But even then, in GREAT games, that go for 30 minutes, it only provides about 1000 overall healing to allies.

The only reason I even take it is that the other choices on the tier simply dont work.

ive taken it on supports like morg and lux, ive noticed people just rarely auto attack and proc it. Its a rune that cant proc in a 1v1 lane, and it only works if your allies actually right click the target cced. Ive gotten 0 healing in 10 minutes on braum support even tho i had 5 assists and 1 kill. They just didnt right click they target the used spells.

tbh I think they are scared of it becoming ardent censor 2.0

Even if they did buff the numbers enchanters dont have much max health to begin with.

And tanks still heal a meager amount with it imo. Granted i can totally see the concern with ardent they can just not make it proc with HoT

It's already an amazing rune, it can be proc'd multiple times so it's p insane, imagine those numbers multiplied by the amount of times your adc hits them, it becomes a ton

I often get 1500+ ally healing from it in game, the rune's OP

What are you talking about? You'd only get close to 1500 from a 40+ minute game, and yeah it can be procced multiple times but the healing doesn't stack.

On hit the rune grants 40% of the total value, which is usually going to be around 30-40 AT MAX LVL AND BUILD, so around 18 each hit if you're lucky. Not to mention you haven't even used this Rune once in what seems like ANY of your games so why are you trying to push this line of bullshit lies?

Runnans and max build hitting 3 people its like 50 on hit healing, and thats pretty absurd given the fact it is someone elses rune. It also stacks with healshield increases, and effects like athens. Ive built athenes full tank cho and seen adcs heal 120 per auto. it CAN BE problematic if its just raw number buffed. It needs a cooldown but to be strong when its up. Like a flat 50 plus 5% over 5 seconds 20 second cooldown or something so it isnt just up 100% of the time.

27 min game as Rammus supp 1,333 healing (My only recent font game)

What do you mean by "The healing doesn't stack"? Whoever basic attacks in the 4sec gets the heal excluding you, your ad can absolutely proc it multiple times and get multiple amounts of the heal

It's a Heal over Time, which is treated similarly to Damage over Time. Multiple instances of the same HoT or DoT don't stack; they refresh the duration (this is why clustered Maokai saplings or Teemo shrooms don't do ridiculous amounts of damage when popped at the same time).

Font of Life's healing ticks are:

  • 40% immediately on-hit
  • 15% 0.1s after latest AA
  • 15% 0.65s after latest AA
  • 15% 1.2s after latest AA
  • 15% 1.75s after latest AA

(I specify "latest" because each subsequent AA cancels the currently active effect and replaces it with a new one)

Let's use a Stoneplate Cho'Gath as our Font of Life user to get a clean number for math purposes:

HP: 9500 Font of Life's full single proc: 5 + 95 = 100HP

If an ADC has 2AS and lands 3 AAs:

  • 1st AA: 40% of 100 = 40HP
    • 0.1s after 1st AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP
  • 2nd AA (0.5s after 1st AA): 40% of 100 = 40HP
    • 0.1s after 2nd AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP
  • 3rd AA (0.5s after 2nd AA): 40% of 100 = 40HP
    • 0.1s after 3rd AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP
    • 0.65s after 3rd AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP
    • 1.2s after 3rd AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP
    • 1.75s after 3rd AA: 15% of 100 = 15HP

That's a total of 210HP. Were they to fully stack, that would be 300HP.

You may be correct, but I've not seen anywhere that says that this rune follows those rules. Not that it changes the fact that the rune is still really good and you can easily get 1500 healing from it in a game that lasts <30min

While the wiki/fandom page isn't always 100% accurate (really wish Riot's own gameinfo section was curated more meticulously), it does state that the rune behaves like the old Stoneborn Pact mastery. That one has an explicit explanation on Reddit from a Rioter which mentions the immediate on-hit 40% stacking but only a refresh of the HoT portion. https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/5vzrb6/224_pbe_update/de6hxml/ (image is a link in case that's unclear... board parser is forcing an image instead of the raw URL) The post calls it Bond of Stone because that was the mastery that was replaced by Stoneborn Pact, but BoS was a completely different effect with no healing.

People seem to be ignoring the on hit portion. Its a rune that works well with high attackspeed allies, or allies that hit multiple enemies per auto. Thats why its weak on single target auto attackers. Its kinda weak overall, but its really not well used on things like jax or something.

Eonslegacy1 votes

And this is absolutely ridiculous on someone with like 1.5k health mid to late game that also heals like 50 per auto anyway. Imagine doing the math on a jinx with runnans with that cho gath. That could get completely rediculous. Its a badly designed rune BECAUSE of the on hit amount. That on hit prevents it from being decent on suboptimal users.

Eonslegacy2 votes

Theres actually a little more to it than that. It heals like 40% of the heal instantly, so with a 5 man braum ult or something, a runnans user heals like 7 plus 1.5% of the tanks health PER auto attack, then after heals the rest of the base passive 3 plus .6% after. This means its REALLY overpowered for fast attack speed/guinsoos/runnans users or aoe auto attackers like twitch. Buffing it would need to remove that on hit 40% of total heal instantly portion to make it not broken on things like lucian and twitch. If it had a cd it could be like 25 plus 5% over 5 seconds with a 20 second cooldown pretty well.

oLnPeVerna2 votes

1.5% wtf are you even talking about? Font of Life is 5 + 1% of the user max hp at all time.

Eonslegacy1 votes

You clearly dont understand how font works. After I explained it like 3 times. IF i heal 1% of your life 9 times, i didnt heal 1 % of your life. i healed 9%. 1.5% would occur with 2 or 3 auto attacks with font up. or 1 runnans auto on 3 targets affected aka amumu ult or something and twitch.

putting some health back into pure tank items might help too. at least a little.

DOUBLE TAPPED E1 votes

Make it a Keystone and we can talk imo.

Eonslegacy1 votes

That could be a cool keystone. IF it was stronger. Tanks dont REALLy have a TANK keystone. After shock is used more by mages divers, and grasp by things like Gp.
