Veigar's "counterplay."
I will be the first to say that I absolutely despise threads with people whining about champions like Zed being strong, because, while they ARE strong, and ARE annoying, they have their ways to deal with them and are, from my viewpoint, relatively balanced.
In fact, I generally avoid most balance threads at all because I feel like people do nothing in them but whine (there are always a few gems that are great discussions, though, and I do enjoy taking part in them).
But Veigar is a problem. And while this is a short post (for now), I want to demonstrate why this is a problem. Veigar HAS HAD counterplay. In the same way that Zed had counterplay.
Don't like being stunned? "Buy a QSS." Invest in tenacity. Grab a Banshee's veil. You build around Veigar like you do any other champion to counter them. That's what makes League awesome - even in the worst situations you can build items to deal with even the hardest lanes, and if you survive, your team as a whole can still do well. Building against Veig with a Banshee's or tenacity severely hurt Veigar. For AD champions, a QSS saves lives. Just like building it against Zed. Or Lissandra. Or any other heavy CC champion.
Maybe the stun is overbearing. Why wasn't the early (or even late) stun duration nerfed? That would be PLENTY fair. Nerf his stun to hell, taking as much as a solid second off of it at max rank. Or nerf the width some. At LEAST it'll maintain Veigar's core gameplay.
