Punishment mistake may cost you months of suffering

dEAdbUs··2 votes·1,204 views

My nephew played 3 games on my account without my permission. I told him, do not play on my account, but he did. I changed my password, to be sure that he won't do it again, but it was too late.

I get ban with quotes from my nephew chat: "worst ahri in the world killing spree botlane so bad toplajne so bad"

I wrote letter "Why did I get ban?", explained that it was mistake, but now everything is ok. Week later I get mail with "Sorry". Started game. Now I had "35 ranked restrictions"! I wrote next letter "Why? I spent 7 days in ban already and you punish me again?". They answered "We will remain firm in our decision to restrict the account".

Fair punishment? "You're scum, rot in ban forever", that's how Riot acts. Doesn't matter that I was active community member and was captain of 5 teams. Doesn't matter that ban was about to end - get another punishment.

One mistake, and player is nothing for you. Thanks Riot.

They don't look "kind" or "motivational" to me. I say your nephew deserves some discipline about his language once in a while. Your nephew's attitude is your responsibility(or his parents wherever they are), not Riot's.

Nobody have to be punished twice for one mistake. Once you will learn it. This is how laws work in whole world.

redniwediS1 votes

No, this is how laws work in most of the western world. Try learning about a few countries first, then you might have an idea of how our world works.

And yes, this is an American telling someone from the EUW server to learn about the world.

You can't be tried twice but your sentence once convicted can be jail time followed by probation. Also i think the Terms of Service are more relevant.

dEAdbUs1 votes

There is no definitions that "ban" = "jail" or "ranked restrictions" = "pobation". However I spent week in ban already.

redniwediS2 votes

My constitution doesn't cover the, and I quote, "whole world". You said the following:

This is how laws work in whole world.

You're wrong here. End of story.

Let's back to the stone age! Let's orient to the worst places and let's make worst game for worst community! Bah.

redniwediS2 votes

Are you attempting to put words in my mouth simply so you can continue this? Just recognize that you made a mistake, learn from it, and move on like any other rational person.

dEAdbUs2 votes

This is demagogy. When I was talking about "law", I meant civilized country, of which most of the world. But you're trying to show that a slight inaccuracy in my words mean that all what I say - lies. Usual demagogy trick.

You better to stop offtopic.

redniwediS1 votes

Parts of Europe, which is typically considered civilized, don't have protection against double jeopardy...

Seriously stop arguing and go learn something before you continue. At least when I pick my arguments I do research to make sure I'm not spewing out nonsense.

dEAdbUs1 votes

Proofs please.

redniwediS1 votes

It's publicly available information, go find it yourself.

I'll give you a starting point: Italy.

dEAdbUs1 votes

True demagogy. Approver has to prove his point of view and not the others try to deny it.

redniwediS1 votes

What? My claim is backed up with publicly available information... And I even gave you a starting point! To top it off you don't even have a point to prove, you're just denying what I say.

To put it simply it's not my job to cure your own ignorance, that responsibility lies fully on you. If you insist on staying ignorant to the truth so be it, I gave you as much as I'm able to without spoon feeding you.

dEAdbUs1 votes

It's usual rules of communicating. All you're doing is usual demagogy. But ok, I'll answer to you. Here public information.

International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: http://www.ohchr.org/en/professionalinterest/pages/ccpr.aspx You need Article 14, part 7.

Countries signed it: https://treaties.un.org/pages/viewdetails.aspx?chapter=4&src=treaty&mtdsg_no=iv-4&lang=en Italy is there. Some countries made exceptions for themselves about some articles, but Italy didn't make exceptions about Article 14.

Now are you going to prove your point? Or fully responsibility for lies on you?

redniwediS1 votes

It's fine and dandy that they signed that, but actions speak louder than words.

My "point" was a simple correction of what you said. Go do some more reading.

dEAdbUs1 votes

So, no proofs? Right?

Signing such kind of documents is enough action for me.

Just accept that you don't have proofs, and all you were doing, is try to show how good you are. Another attempt to assert themselves at the expense of the weak.

redniwediS1 votes

Following the document is far more important than signing it. Again it's public information, I don't have help you with your ignorance what so ever.

Maybe look up how the burden of proof works while you're at it, in particular the part where it deals with public information. We're done here.

dEAdbUs1 votes

You showed 0 proofs, while I showed enough. We're truly done here.

Sounds like your nephew played more than 3 games on your account. Just cause riot only sent you 3 games does not mean that it was only 3 games.

Think about how bad it had to be that if you (were a completely positive player) had your riot rep ruined to top 10% of toxic players? I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here that every you say is true with that assumption. Your nephew had to be playing a lot of games or dropped into deep harassment (death threats or racism).

The reason riot is not going to turn around and unpunish is that they have no way of knowing if it was you or not. Sure they have your word of your account but that at this time is not in good standing.

14 Day Behavior Suspension dEAdbUs,

You have received a 14 day ban following an extensive audit of in-game behavior within recent League of Legends matches.

Your peers judged your behavior to be far below the standards of the League of Legends community. Think through the conversation and reflect on your words. League is an intense, competitive game, but every player deserves respect. Read more about the effort to encourage sportsmanlike play, here.

Here are some chat logs that were identified as negative by other players in the community.

This type of behavior is unacceptable in this community. When there is nothing good to say, don't say anything at all. As a community, we also don't believe that retaliation is an appropriate response, so in cases where there is retaliation, both players receive penalties. This is the only warning this account will receive. Further examples of toxic behavior can result in permanent closure of your account.

Angry Monster1 votes

That still does not mean that he did not play other games at some earlier point.

Though if you believe that he has not played more than 3 games, you may not of been the pinnacle of behavior it then

2 week ago I finished my 35 ranked restriction games. I felt like I fully reformed. That was sad, but I accepted punishment. 70 games when I wasn't able say anything bad about trolls, flamers or AFKs gave me steel nerves. After that I asked nephew to stop playing on my account, because while I reformed, he's not. However it doesn't mean that he played a lot on my account. Maybe 15-20 games at all, just to try some champions that he doesn't have. I played some rankeds and then moved to week vacations. When I back, I found myself banned, checked match history - he played 3 games.

I could start story from that point, but even now all message I get in this neutral topic sounds mostly like "you deserved it flamer". But I fully finished my punishment already, and I feel like this ban + 35 more games is stupidly unfair.

You can't call teammates bad. It doesn't matter if they are 0/10, or 0/100 and intentionally feeding, or if they tell you to kill yourself. You aren't allowed to call them bad.

dEAdbUs1 votes

Thanks Captain Obvious. Hope you're good and positive as your words.

By the looks of the chat log, it seems that before reaising your fangs at Riot, you need to work on your own security, and that nephew of yours needs some discipline, so young and already calling other people retards.

But as some other people have said, this thread is fishy at best.

dEAdbUs1 votes

I worked on my own security, I asked nephew to stay away from my account. After founding that he kept playin on my account, I changed password. And then I get ban.

Riot said many times that they won't punish someone for sharing account, even if they're against that. Their target to build positive community, not a slave system.
