Swain Updates on the PBE

So been playing around with the Swain changes Twitter

I say I really like them. Running Grasp as Keystone because it also gives Perma Max HP

The Passive healing (and mana gain) is based on your Max HPs so building HP is not a bad option.

The Ult is really nice now. Feels like back to Drain tanking.

Late game One W hitting 3 Enemies will heal for 900 (both HP and Mana)

Ulting gives 150 hp + your passive hp gain based on stacks so late game that is 450 HP gained on use. Then it hitting all targets in range is so much better then the 3 max targets before.

I dont feel its OP at all tho. Just better then before.

I might give Swain another shot after this.

I had to drop Swain before because he played like being handicapped, as if his playstyle was crippled for immersion or something.

The biggest annoyances have always been how overall powerless he is given he has had too many conditional gatings in his kit making him too overly slow and unresponsive to any situation; and his extremely underwhelming laning phase given all he could do was just E-rightclick for 80% of the laning phase since Q was dog shit until half build in and W was too specialised and R needs soul fragment to not be a joke (and that's on top of the R spell's already long cooldown, that you need to spend even more time to collect all those soul fragments).

Now Swain may feel good to use now. Hopefully.

Eh you need to play him more. It really isn’t that hard hitting stuff if you play to farm and then group. He’s a teamfighter. W you use for zoning, scouting and combos. You’ll be surprised how many people don’t pay attention when a fight is going on and they just sit in it because they are fighting.

Played the new Swain a few times and I love him even more now. Averaging about 80 souls a game. So I’m excited for these changes.

I just did testing on dummies and it felt good. I am going to play some pvp games but I’m excited because like you said the changes aren’t op. Just feel like the old swain is back.

What are you thoughts on q changes?

Not a fan of the range nerf. It feels bad because Im so use to his old range so I miss a lot of Q's

I also dont like the spread change because IF I do hit at max range I only hit with one bolt so its no real damage (I know 15% is also small but its 15% more then one bolt)

Also his combo is less damage

E > Pull > W> Q and the Q only hits maybe 2 bolts instead of 4-5

Yeah I can see that. It feels like when you throw out e you have to preemptively walk a little forward so you can hit a better q on them.

Now that stacks matter, you feel how SLOW his W and E are.
Having 1-3 of the plethora of champs with dashes on the enemy team REALLY hurts because ANYONE can walk out of W and dashers never get hit by E so no stacks.

Not able to trigger passive means no sustain in lane at all.

Have you tried glacial augment with him? I main him top and often fight the likes of riven, renekton, yasuo, etc. So slowing them up makes landing stacks quite easy.
