Honestly, what's the point of playing bruisers when assassins exist?

Assassins have a way to get into the back line, burst the back line, and then get out after doing so. They can bypass tanks extremely easily with stealth, long distance jumps and dashes. And they have multiple ways to make sure they don't die when they go in (healing, stealth, etc). This notion of assassins being "high risk" is honestly ridiculous. Bruisers are the true "high risk" champions.

Actually winning games, because bruisers are better than assassins right now.

You're asking the wrong question. The real question is "Why would you ever play bruisers when tanks exist." Because Tanks usually end up out-classing bruisers in every way. They don't die as quickly as bruisers, they usually have more effective cc than bruisers, and their base damages make them less dependent on items. Most of the time, they can outlast bruisers by just soaking up damage longer than it takes to kill the bruiser. Seriously, the tank items we have right now are really strong.

I think assassins are kind of a bit of an upswing right now, which I personally hate because my ban that I usually reserve for Xerath because he's so annoying is now taken up by Zed, but bruisers can still abuse some of these tank items. Titanic hydra in particular can give bruisers added tankiness and wave clear that they really shouldn't have, and Dead Man's Plate gives them better engage than they have any right to have. It depends on the case, of course, but Bruisers have some advantages that assassins don't. Assassins have some advantages that bruisers don't.

I think bruisers are designed to win early and snowball, while tanks are more late game.

Well, if that's the intent, it really backfired, didn't it? Tanks during the early game can be completely infuriating to try to put down. Even if they just have one item, they can be incredibly difficult to kill.

They give a psuedo front line to the people in the back and can serve as off tanks if your team lacks them.

Tanks are useless when assassins can get past them so easily and kill your squishies.

If the tanks can get through them easily, tells me they are shit tanks, or the backline can't position.

More survivability, more split-pushing power, more CC, can pump out a decent amount of damage, isn't useless after using one rotation of abilities, not bound to DBlade (at least, Assassins aren't bound anymore, with the DBlade nerfs, but regardless they've been EXTREMELY reliant on DBlade for being relevant).
