PSA: Losing Lane is a Skill

Gracefully getting carried is a skill, and it increases the consistency of your climb for the games you don't get fed in. You can be useful without having the most damage dealt.

I know what the highest win rate build may be, but that's correlation, not causation; they build like that because they're already ahead.

Depends on the matchup. I know there are some games where when I get first blood, I am basically guaranteed a free lane and the enemy can't CS xp or harass.

And likewise, there are some matchups where if you lose your advantage, or give even a single kill, you're screwed the rest of the game.

At some point, people need to realize that their lane is over, and they can win through superior macro play. There's no need to make oneself as heavy as possible when they don't win lane.

Again, it depends. For example, if I am in a bad matchup and give up a kill due to a jungle gank at level 3, that is going to make my laning absolute hell. I'll still be 3 when I come back but the enemy will be 5, have a good 30-50% more gold than me, and can easily snowball if they counter me in lane. It's too early to try to get cs/xp through roaming/grabbing jungle camps, so all you can do is turret hug and pray you don't get dove when the enemy hits 6.

It can happen to anyone regardless of skill level.

PS I'm not the one downvoting.

If one is countered in lane and gives up first blood, the lane is probably tanked regardless, unless the jungler/mid bails you out. Still doesn't mean one needs to build straight damage then overextend for CS, resulting in an 0/6 score pre-10 minutes.

Besides, in bad match-ups I usually just recognize that, barring a cheese, I'm not going to win. So I'd just get some early gold in, back and buy then burn the early TP. Helps survive shitty lanes, in my experience.
