How is Zz'Rot exactly utilized?

I picked it up because it has pretty strong defensive stats (minus no health+), but I couldn't find a productive or efficient way of using it...Since towers one shot each Voidling before they could even get to the tower to blow up, it was pretty pointless trying to stealth-siege a tower from the jungle. On another note, it has hardly any lifespan while travelling the lane. This item has some siege potential and probably would get picked up by organized teams and shit, maybe to double up and siege a tower with two voidlings at a time (at least one will make it to the tower)...but otherwise, it probably wont see the light of day...Or at least, its passive wont.

I also assumed it would ignore creeps and creeps would ignore it while it travelled to its ultimatum...Needless to say, that was false. Maybe if it was rushed/gotten early game when towers are a necessity to take out (they hurt early-mid game) I could see some sieging going on but...?

I put this in balance cause I'm thinking it needs a buff or some sort if the only way to utilize it is to have at least 2+ people get it to siege a tower from the jungle...or early game when it'll probably be sold later in need of something like a Thornmail or whatever. Unless someone can tell me how I'm using it wrong, I'd see it as UP or UP in soloQ. It has potential though.

Basically everyone on your team has to have one for it to do the job you think it should do.

I think its more of a support item... help the team siege and not be super squishy.. idk tho i dont really buy it.

start a slow push in a lane of minions, drop a ZZ'rot near the tower when minions begin getting close (preferably in the jungle in a bush), have your team hide in that bush, and wait. Either the minions + ZZ'rot kill the tower, or the enemy team come to stop it and will try to find the portal and walk into your death bush to clear it :D

It should be core on Blitzcrank for this reason as long as your team is remotely coordinated XD

Towers one shot Voidlings? Whenever I used it the main problem I have is Voidlings getting stomped by minion waves and doing nothing but stalling. But they have always reached the tower for me.

Having two on the team raised the effectiveness.

You kind of want to "fake out" the enemy team into a false engagement, while your enhanced minion waves pushed out the other lanes and start dealing damage to towers instead of your team.

They also become a kind of effective annoyance as the enemy team hunts down the portals, keeping them from behaving optimally.

Not every champ can push the lane fast, because their low mobility would make them vulnerable or their wave clear tool are weak/require too much mana to use it without going OoM and so they would be defenseless if enemies engage or some champ use zone control tools/skills that don't allow them to advance fast without losing their safety zone ZZ'Rot is useful for these kind of champs (Galio, Heimer, etc...), because you can slowly advance the lane, and once you get to the limit of your safety zone, you can drop the Porrtal to let your Voidlings push the tower down for you while you keep yourself safe
