This doesn't just apply to primary assassins either, it also applies to champions who are secondary assassins or just play like assassins.

the reason why games snowball right now is that turret first blood is still a thing. win the botlane gangbang and your team gets like a 1000 gold lead at 6 to 10 minutes.

Besides this isn't about only assassins, this is mostly to do with champions who fall into the design of high burst and mobility. The corner stone of assassin design, but not limited to only assassins. The point is that these two particular mechanics are probably the worst two ways to design champions to avoid snowballing. Mobility lets you force fights and avoid mistakes, where burst is just naturally the most powerful damage pattern.
