Does Caitlyn Really Feel Like a Sniper?

#This isn't a complaint about her current place in the meta, or the amount of power she has. It's just a question I want to ask.

So what do you think of when you hear "sniper"? Is it someone who has a slow-firing yet powerful weapon, or someone with very rapid fire? Caitlyn was meant to be this siege-style ADC, who is meant to take down towers. Taking down towers requires a lot of attack speed; have you seen Jhin try to take down a tower quickly? The only time he can do more damage to it is with his 4th shot.

Regarding Caitlyn though, I feel she'd have a more solid identity as a sniper if she had little attack speed, but has high damage per shot. Think of her to be similar to Jhin, who can't gain bonus attack speed but makes up for it with massive AD and damage per shot. Caitlyn could use other changes (traps, overall damage, etc.) but I feel since Riot likes to make their champions fit their theme (hence the Assassin Update), we could prioritize making Caitlyn really feel like a sniper. Hell, she uses a sniper rifle, not an assault rifle!
