With the vision changes, Teemo could revolve around vision

EDIT-: some people told me about the problem with giving such utility on shrooms as soon as lvl1 which would allow to stalk precisely the enemy jungler. As a fix to that, I'm reverting the cooldown buffs and instead putting a charging time that scales down with levels until 11

EDIT2: Increasing ult throw range to be better than current bounce range. Increasing safety during ult for successful "missions", but reverting W buff. Reducing assassination potential with Toxic Shot's on-hit nerf (poison unchanged). Found out that actually the main problem with live shrooms is that 450 base damage rank 3, reverting ratio nerf, introducing base value nerf. Increasing max charges from 3 to 7 at rank 5.

OK so Teemo has been nerfed over the years because he's so goddamn frustrating to play against. The main source of frustration is having to back after ONE shroom lategame, being handicapped in your roams all game, being blinded while you farm all laning phase long... This season there's much less vision around, so vision scout would actually be a decent niche for Teemo. Here are my suggestions.

Q: changed to vision reduction like Quinn. Applies poison.

W: unchanged

E: Passive: still Toxic Shot. Poison unchanged, on-hit ratio nerfed from 30% to 20%. Active: Noxious Trap. 30/40/50 mana. melee (175) casting range, can't hit idle monsters (so that scuttie doesn't remove them),. charge time reduced by 6% per level from lvl 2, and caps to 60% reduction at lvl 10, reaching 13.6 base cooldown at lvl 10. Max charges 3->3/4/5/6/7. Base damage 200/325/450 -> 60/80/100/120/140

R: Passive: Teemo and his wards and shrooms gain 10/20/30% vision radius. Active: Teemo drinks a potion that renders him stealthed for 15 seconds and grants him 20/40/60 ms and ward detection, consumed after 2 wards. During this duration, shroom gains 1200 range (as a reference, Xerath's fully charged Q is 1400) and explodes on landing if it lands on a unit. All shrooms deal 2/2.75/3.5 times the damage during this duration and give a Nocturne's ult vision reduction effect for 2 seconds. Autoattacking (except wards) and using Q breaks stealth for 4 seconds, using W doesn't break stealth, E breaks stealth for 0.5 seconds. Cooldown: 110/90/70

Tell me what you think about it.

There's a couple of problems here:

  1. Removing his blind will get rid of his only defensive option, which he desperately needs.
  2. This doesn't change his role at all, just nerfs him even further - with lower damage, less shrooms and less range on planting them.
  3. Unconditional, prolonged stealth in combat is an inherently unhealthy design in League of Legends.
  4. And last but not least - Teemo doesn't really need a rework. At this point the "Teemo hate" is basically just a meme from the distant past. Right now his Mushrooms deal fraction of damage they used to and there are a lot less of them on the map too (and outside of mushrooms, he never had a toxic design - unless we assume that autoattacks as a whole are unhealthy).

No, Teemo needs some small tweaks to his kit, like making his W active a bit more rewarding to use (for example, increase the active to three time buff, but decaying to the passive speed over time) or slightly increasing the duration of his shrooms with rank (5/6/7 minutes or even 5/5,5/6 minutes).

But there is one change that must be done first and foremost - Oracle Alteration should not disable traps (just reveal them). Using it right now, renders you completely immune to any and all Teemo mushrooms for 10 seconds. And not only that - your whole team is immune to all mushrooms nearby, and with a radius of 660-750 it completely negates Teemo's ultimate ability. Also, it's free.

That said, Sweeping Lens should still be able to disable traps in it's range. Btw. Rito: Why is Sweeping Lens completely outclassed by Oracle Alteration? I mean, the only thing that Sweeping has over Oracle is range - which is almost meaningless, considering that you need to be close in order to get rid of wards and traps anyway.

  1. Have you played against new Quinn? It's much stronger than a blind if you can kite. However, it allows the target to farm in a simple poke situation.
  2. It does change his role. It allows him to control vision better (shrooms since lvl 1, low cost like below 100 mana at any rank, cooldown getting down to 13.6 s base cooldown at lvl 11) if anything, I should increase the range of thrown shrooms ( it's lower than bounce range on live) and add Max charges.
  3. But think for a second. He either would build DPS and use his stealth just for assassinations or build utility and use his stealth to run around and control the map. Maybe a slight nerf to his toxic shot in order to make his assassin build less good would be needed, but it gives him a different playstyle, a "warding mission" one where he walks among the enemy ranks to get map control.

I'm doing a couple edits to the main post after this, stay tuned
