For a champion with such 'extreme weaknesses', Darius still has a very high win rate.
Win: 52%
Pick: 11%
Just saying.
Compare to
who has more weaknesses and does less at pretty much all points of the game.

Just accept that darius outplays you in champ select when you pick a shitty melee champ in top xdd
You mean because he bought Phage vs a ranged xdd
shittymelee champ
https://i.gyazo.com/a687b79a3642271dd7a89c90ba742869.png once you arrive at high elo, suddenly no one plays him except few mains and every toplane mains consider him weak
Darius has obvious weaknesses, it's called "no mobility" and this alone makes smart players aka high elo able to play against him
-gH
That's also largely because teamfights actually have proper structure and flow at higher elos.
Also, you getting opinions of no-name players, especially non-relevant one-tricks, doesn't support what you're saying at all...Its simply irrelevant.

No, that's because in high elo people don't go into melee range against darius which fucks up him a lot, his E range is 450 and if you walk out of it during the delay it goes on a VERY LONG COOLDOWN

He's a toplane main that was master yesterday and now sitting at diamond 1 He doesn't main darius
you can list your opinion on darius and say that's broken, and i can't list his opinion as a smart toplane main?
comon dude, lower the salt level
I'm saying that person is not relevant to the discussion, especially since his opinion is entirely that, with no backing outside of '0 mobility', which hasn't prevented champions from being good, or even blatantly overpowered, ever before.

but you, you're relevant to the discussion?

can you list me a champion without mobility that is strong in high elo? can you? because i can't minus few exceptions
mobility makes everything in this game especially if you belong in a class made to kill people and you don't have mobility
if you're sion you don't need mobility because you just CC people
But being in master and arguing with people below about darius will bring me nowhere anyway Have fun complaining against a champion you can't play against
but you, you're relevant to the discussion?
I'm bring up the topic, and people generally agree with me, so yes. Unlike you, I'm not just citing peoples' opinions and saying '0 mobility = 0 chance of being overpowered'.
can you list me a champion without mobility that is strong in high elo?
Plenty of ADCs, especially the last few patches.
Plenty of mages, especially the last few patches.
Plenty of supports, especially the last few patches.
A decent amount of junglers at several points.
A select few top laners.
Mobility doesn't make or break champions in this game anymore. It just adds versatility which leads to ease of use, generally making them more viable in any given meta.
Stop acting like a lack of strong mobility excludes a champion from possibly being over-tuned. lol
Darius is weak in high elo? He's the second most picked top laner in plat+ games. Even if you don't count plat as high elo it takes all other ranks past that into consideration
high elo isn't plat+
high elo is master tier+ where people become smart
Did you not read what I said? I said you can take directly from diamond and master and he still has a high pickrate do you need proof?
Oh, didn't you hear?
He's so nerfed. He got super gutted from where he rightfully belongs.
I'm pretty sure no darius main said the nerfs were major. -10 ad and 15% damage is not significant nerfs, especially since the Black cleaver "buff". He was balanced with lethality abusers keeping him in check, but now with the meta being lucian adcarry he's returned to being a fotm pick.
A lot of them were saying it was uncalled for and over-nerfing him.
Even Scarra and our resident Diamond+ Darius mains on the boards lashed out about it. And he's still too strong afterwards.
i think it was uncalled for, but only because it was the wrong way to nerf him (IMO)
I would have preferred a power shift out of his early game strength and a nerf to his W's slow at early ranks, so if you want the full slow as it is now you need to level W
those would have been much better ways to hit him, i feel
Definitely agree, but many were saying because it took too much power out, when it was the classic "We're pulling power out in a relatively insignificant way to placate the masses even though this champion will still deserve nerfs after" that Riot likes to pull.
His W slow and the way his passive affects laning dynamics is what needs adjustment atm. Hell, if just one is corrected the other becomes less of a problem.
I would actually like to see him become a little bit more backloaded too, like not getting the bleed until he does get full stacks to make it clear that he's shit in short trades. things like that; I like the reward for doing his passive well, I wouldn't complain if he had less power until he achieves it
Maybe just getting shit on by only ranged top laners and winning lane against every single other champion isn't a huge tradeoff...
But Darius doesn't get shit on by ranged champs lol.
The only ranged champs that do decently against him have slows, high burst+DPS...all at the same time, usually MS steroids and sometimes need hard CC on top of that. And even then only come out at around 53% winrate vs him.
If you haven't set him significantly behind by the time he gets Phage, lane's pretty much won for him.
Only 4 ranged champions have a good match-up vs him.
36 top laners have a poor match-up vs him, 7 have a good match-up vs him. 11 are relatively even...most in favor of Darius though.
So, he basically just gets bullied by
?
(at least scales well into him) and
.
You forgot Gnar
...Darius destroys Gnar. lol
For all I've seen and read, Gnar crushes Darius.
Stats don't match up, and I've only ever played the matchup once, but I'll take your word for it.
I've heard that Gnar is one of the most annoying champs to play into juggernauts in general though, and when I do play against one it's the most awful lane ever, second to only Pantheon.
I hate Pantheon.
I picked Gnar a few times into Darius thinking that... wasnt a very fun time because his pull has higher range than mini Gnars auto attacks.
Still not sure why a "kiteable" juggernaut that also has a strong heal and like the highest potential damage of all juggernauts gets a ranged hook, 2 heavy slows and a permanent speed boost from his passive + Phage but... eh.
IIRC Darius doesn't have an intrinsic MS steroid anymore.
Yeah not from his passive alone anymore but what I meant was his dot procs the speed boost from Black Cleaver all the time.
Due to gnar's low attack range in mini form, low upfront damage compard to dari even in mega form and the long cooldown on his E, gnar simply survives and never thrives. At no stage can gnar go in 1v1 and come out on top and once darius gets phage, he'll be zoning gnar all day long. Gnar trades upfront damage and beef for CC and range. It's like the mundo kayle match up of season 4. Mundo may not crush kayle early on, but eventually he's so fat, so fast and has so much sustained damage that he just sits on you until you're dead. The same thing applies to darius and gnar. Gnar can safely farm until darius has phage, after that darius just sits on gnar until he dies.
Gnar only works after you have played into Darius a few times. It is a skill matchup, but if the gnar knows what he is doing will win every time. Tip agaist pantheon is to rush a
or
and laugh at his autos.
Ps gnar is my second most played champion and played agaist many a daruis
His bleed needs be toned down. I watched a top laner ignite him and fight him at more or less equal health both with Doran's shield, and my top laner popped a potion. I then proceeded to watch as ignite killed Darius less slow than Darius' bleed killed him.
This was level 4.
REMOVE HIS HEALLLLLLLLLLLL
As much as I acknowledge Darius being too strong, his heal is not the problem. It is insignificant in the laning phase, and has clear counterplay (inner edge of Decimate).
The counterplay of darius' Q disappears with any one of: phage, stormraiders or cripple. If darius, like varus or camille was slowed during the channel of his Q, then maybe the enemy would have an actual chance of out running it or getting within the inner circle. This would simply mean that darius need to cripple the enemy first and can't just spam it as a poke spell.
Currently you must have a dash to avoid the outter circle and if you don't have one, well then his so called counterplay is "stay out of range"
I disagree. Before his update, he has no sustain in lane, and was therefore countered by champs who could skirmish him and then go heal it off. The heal gave him some sustain, which makes him much harder to manage in lane.
Darius is weak against range and mobility. Those are both increasing with [almost] every release and rework. He's borderline "face-roll" against immobile melee.
That's why his numbers appear they way they do. But against a competent team, he's useless beyond lane bullying. Except in siege comps, where he sits on his ass and looks looks at people funny.
What's his extreme weakness?
Kiting, supposedly.
lol

Kiting? When his kit seems expressly designed to prevent people from kiting him?

Stormraider's.

But you know, you're just bad if he gets in range of you :^)

Not only that, but he's got a grab and his spin deals more damage if you're not point blank.
I don't have a problem with either of those.
I do have a problem with the counterplay to his Q being to get in melee range of him so he can stack his passive, which is stronger than some ultimates even at level 1. And being in melee also allows him to apply his W slow for free, and as an auto reset 100% of the time. Use an escape? He uses E.
Just asking, who do you play versus Darius? Maybe if i know your champion i could give my insight and opinion on the matchup.

Illaoi.
Illaoi can actually stat-check Darius to death post-6 if she doesn't feed him really early.
illaoi is not a stat check
You want to know how you actually nerf Darius?
Bleed no longer procs Phage.
it doesn't though, only after he gets Cleaver does that happen, unless the bleed kills something
but that interaction is there because Darius always had MS for bleeding enemies before his rework.
