Ban rates are incongruous with the current meta

Talon, Rengar, and Zed are some of the highest in ban rates right now. All of them are "strong" in the sense that they do a bunch of damage, but there have never been more tools to deal with them than there are now. Supports that cuck engages like Janna and Ivern have been given absurdly strong tools to deal with these champs, and as a result, they don't win games often.

Why is it that there isn't an all out banfest on Ivern, Janna, and hypercarries? These seem to be especially strong right now. Assassins are pretty garbage, and none of them are performing well.

Because people think this is call of duty where all that matters is killing people. And assassins kill people.

I don't think ban rates have ever correlated that strongly with the actually statistical best bans (e.g janna who I'm pretty sure has almost always had one of the lowest ban rates).

People are scared of most new assassins though, as people don't know how to play against their new kits necessarily, people don't necessarily know how to play them, and it's still hard to say if they're actually balanced right now. Their respective winrates don't necessarily mean much because theres tons of clueless people doing things wrong to drag them down, but you never know if theres someone who has really figured out one of of the new champs and they turn out to be OP in that persons hands.

Winrates right after major reworks pretty much mean jack shit tbh. Same as when new champs get released.

Anyway, assassins are getting banned for the same reason they always do. People don't feel that they're fair. For the same reason of Dynamic Queue, even if it is fair, if it doesnt feel fair, people wont like it. Nobody likes getting deleted by hypermobile champs

I think that people just don't like to deal with high damage champions because they want to face someone that deals so-so damage so they can feel safe around them. Problem is though, you can't ban them all and this gives away to sleeper OP's and champs that are above average and those guys when played in the right hands and still rekt the shit out of other players because they are not the far off the official or visibly OP champs.
