Pykes ult will be busted as fuck if those numbers make it to live

ACTIVE: Pyke strikes in an X-shaped area, executing enemies below 185 - 620 (based on level) (+ 140% bonus AD) health while dealing the same amount as physical damage to enemies not within the threshold for execution. If Death from Below hits an enemy champion, Pyke will blink to the center of the X. If it executes an enemy champion, Pyke gains the ability to recast for the next 20 seconds. Enemies killed by Death from Below will grant their full kill gold to both Pyke and his most recent ally to assist.

Seriously? 185-620 (+140% bonus AD) EXCECUTE?

Lets assume that Pyke has 200 bonus AD, which is about average for a lategame AD assassin.

That's a (620+280) 900 damage AoE excecute gapcloser that resets on kills.

The average ADC health is about 510+80X, where X = current level minus one.

So, assuming this is all lategame, the ADC would have about 1870 health.

Which means that Pyke's ult will kill them if they are below roughly 48.1% health (also dealing 900 damage to enemies in the AoE) and then reset.

Imagine that there is a teamfight where all of the enemies are grouped up. You have your 2 tanks/bruisers, who have about 3.5k health, and then your backline supports and carries who have about 2000.

Now let's say one person in the backline is attacked and they are now low.

You kill them with your Pyke ult, and then the other squishies in the backline also got hit and are low. You kill them. Now, guess what, the frontline tanks aren't so beefy anymore are they? They couldn't handle the 3 Pyke ults in a row.

Now, you kill the tanks (dont forget that you have 4 teammates who are also helping chunk them) with your Pyke ult and get yourself a nice little ace.

Does that really seem fair for one ability? Please dont let those ludicrous numbers make it to live. Thank you.

There's your problem.

There are about 20 champions in the game that can wreck a team that's stacked on top of each other.

Yeah but soon the pyke hype will be over and the boards will start complaining about the same stuff again.

I can get Pyke's Ult up to about 80% of an adc's HP. Not just 48%.

I am just waiting for the bronze pubstomp penta with pyke ulting down half a lane over a fleeing team like kassadin on crack.

You're right. I think they should have given him a 480% total AD scaling AOE knockup. Maybe it should even give him a burst of movement speed too.

That does sound insanely powerful in a late game teamfight with enemies all grouped up. But so is Orianna's ult. Catch all five with it in front of your team and score an ace. Scoring an ace late game is practically game over.

Orianna's ult is so strong in a late game teamfight, but you rarely get to use it to full effect due to enemies not conveniently grouping up for you, the tank not being willing to go in, or their fed Zed who knows his best contribution to the teamfight is to delete the one champion on the enemy team who stands a chance of ending the game instantly with a good ult.

Having an ult with the potential to straight up end the game isn't busted. Busted would be being able to use that ult to close out a game without an exceptionally good setup or skillful play. We'll see which one this is when he's good and released.

Pyke's ulti is pretty much where all his power budget was spent. His w practically does nothing after all.

I say they keep it like this for now. His weird play style might be too strange for players, and nerfing him before he even gets the chance to breathe might cause another situation where he's stupidly weak, gets stupidly op with buffs, then gets destroyed later.

I mean Garen's ult can do 1000+ True damage on tanks. I doubt it's true damage on Pike's ult. Also, hitting in a X will most likely not hit so well because the shape is distorted.

It is true damage if the target is within kill zone shields and resistances won’t save them.

Hes an assassin support, and his ult is the majority of his damage. He'll be fine, especially since the early numbers are extremely low.

Precisely, he has the tools of a support.. hp sustain, movement of an assassin invisible bush and honestly a deceptively wide/long hook.

Granted no bonus hp but..his ult numbers are just too good imo. Yes, you have to hit it, but it shouldn't really guarantee the numbers it does even against non-(lowhealth) targets.

Why are you responding to an outdated article? This was when he was on the PBE, before they stripped that ratio from his ultimate. He didn't launch like this at all.

Pyke's ultimate can be dodged, absorbing the cooldown, mitigating the damage, and heavily punishing him.

Pyke's ultimate can be cucked SUPER hard by ANY kind of heal, shield, or invulnerability.

Pyke is unable to build health. This means that he's quite squishy, and it's pretty easy to remove him from a team fight (via death) before his ultimate comes into play. If he's CC'd, he'll basically die.

Pyke's ultimate may well be OP upon release, if it's released with current numbers. If so he has numerous other drawbacks, and it shouldn't take anything dramatic to bring him into line.
