Yasuo is like the one top laner that actually has counterplay

Garen-Point and click and do tons of damage Darius-Same as Garen except you can dodge the pull Irelia-Stun and win. That's literally all you do. Jax-Same as Irelia except he has an aoe stun Teemo-Point and click blind, dot damage (with no cooldown) and stealth

Unlike these top laners, you can dodge Yasuo's main damage source, his 'q' (not including auto attacks), and he can't even ult you if he doesn't land it (not including teammate abilities). He also can't ult if cc'd, or if he doesn't have vision of his target(s). Also, other top laners can afford to be tanky and still have good damage. Yasuo cannot do this. After removing the free armor pen his ult gave him, tank Yasuo is no longer viable. Another thing worth mentioning is that he doesn't have a reliable gap closer. Unlike other top laners who can use their ms boosts/dashes whenever they want (Riven, Fiora, Garen, Teemo, etc) Yasuo can ONLY use his dash if there is an enemy around. If there's no enemies he can't do sh*t. Finally, unlike other top laners, Yasuo does not have reliable cc. Yasuo is a fun champ, but he's more of a liability to his team due to the immense counterplay present in his kit.

You lost me at "Tank Yasuo is no longer viable" as if that was something that should exist to begin with lol

yes, yasuo has counterplay.

no, the other champions dont lack counterplay.

no, bruiser yasuo was not fine. he was designed as a squishy melee adc, and has metric fucktons of utility in his kit to compensate for the fact that hes meant to be played as a squishy glass cannon, which most people describe as "overloaded". its true to an extend, since you need an overloaded kit to compensate for the lack of auto attack range that marksmen have. because ranged auto attacks are just that powerful.

however when yasuo started to build tanky, he became a better bruiser than champions who are actually designed around building tanky (garen, darius) and have their power budget distributed around those builds.

you cant have the utility and mobility of a melee adc, and the damage and defense of a bruiser at the same time.

He's also the only toplaner that can 1v5 after getting 2 items.

Try 1v5ing with Yasuo using PD and IE. I'd love to hear your results.

I mean, there are obviously a few other top laners that have significant amounts of counterplay, but there aren't many tbh. But yes I do think Sion has counterplay, as his kit is mostly skillshot based.

It's true that Yasuo can't use his ultimate if he is CC'd, but pretty much all other champions can't use their ultimates if they're CC'd (apart from Alistar)...

That said, sure, Yasuo doesn't have a point and click true damage ultimate like Garen or Darius. Yasuo also doesn't have a stun, a blind, or DoT abilities. What he does have is perhaps the best in-lane mobility in the game. He has an ability that can block projectives. He has a shield. And unlike most of the champions you mentioned, he has no mana costs. There's pros and cons to every champion. The reason why a lot of people feel as though Yasuo has little counterplay is probably due to him having so many pros and few cons compared to many other champions.

I'm just saying, he gets very few opportunities to actually use his ult. And in the few times he can you can easily stop him from being able to ult with the smallest amount of cc. Also, Tryndamere can ult himself while being hard cc'd. Just a fun fact.

Even if Yasuo can't just use his ultimate whenever, he is somewhat compensated with how short of a CD it has at the later ranks. And if he does get a chance to use his ultimate with the proper set up and decides to go in then he's pretty much guaranteed to do damage while other champions can miss with their ultimates all together. All I'm saying is that comparing individual pros and cons of Yasuo with other champions probably the best way to compare whether a champion has counterplay or not.

And yeah, forgot about Tryndamere xP.

there is no counterplay against double crit with 50% bonus armor pen for 15 seconds on an ult that so happens to have a 30 FUKKIN second cooldown WITHOUT ANY FUKKIN CDR.

now if i build something along the lines of this with 5% cdr on cunning and stormraider surge for item 3046 item 3111 item 3031 item 3071 item 3078 item 3072 on yas HOW can you counterplay that? he will shred more then HALF the armor a tank will build. il have an ult at lvl 16 with a cdr of a whopping 16.5 seconds that means he can shred 30% of someone's total armor and 50% of someone's bonus armor.

a tank with 100 base armor and got something like this item 3111 item 3742 item 3068 item 3065 item 3083 item 3110

With 290 armor against yasuo you will lose 95 armor from his ult and 58 armor from black cleaver. 290-153= 137 armor left. yassuo as a champion is broken in the sense that he breaks the game in a very bad way.

and thats with a black cleaver.

he could build a item 3036 which hurts A LOT i can tell you from experience.
