Now, I'm not saying we give Talon his silence back, but...

Allowing his E to interrupt channels wouldn't be so bad, would it?

Thoughts, summoners?

Santa Gragas isn't real.

Santa is about as real as the easter bunny is.

Give it the interrupt or give it something else. What it currently does is so hard to notice most of the time. I don't see why this would be so bad, Kassadin can do it from a distance.

GanksLikeGast0n6 votes

I've thought this would be a great compromise since they removed the silence.

DrCyanide5 votes

They gave it to Viktor 's Ultimate, I don't see a reason they can't give it to Talon.

captainkaiger2 votes

Because that is his only guaranteed form of CC. To compensate, he has high damage on his abilities. And even then his Ult doesn't silence people it travels over, just the people you cast it on.

forist2 votes

You do know his w both slows and stuns, right?

captainkaiger1 votes

Yes, but it has a wind up, can be dashed through, or out of, and can be simply walked around. Yes, it does stun but unless you stick around in it, it does jack.

forist1 votes

Yes, kind of like soraka's silence or veigar's event horizon. I see absolutely no reason why this can't be considered guaranteed cc when placed in the correct position, especially if you follow up with his ult to prevent anyone from using any channeled moves to escape.

captainkaiger1 votes

Okay, time to put it a different way. Viktor is a mage, almost always seen mid. That means he'll be laning against the likes of Fizz, Katarina, Talon, Zed, Akali. Each of these champs has a near instantaneous escape. More often than not, when I play as Viktor or Veigar, putting down the stun-gates becomes a waste of mana.

forist1 votes

I don't like want to get into a whole conversation about strategy, because I don't play mages as much as assassins, (also don't even own viktor) but I figure that a good idea would be to wait for these champions to jump on you, and then use the w on yourself that way they have to choose whether to try for the kill and be cc'd or to run away immediately. Since all of the champs you mention are melee, you should be able to use vik's w very effectively as a defensive tool, because they have to get in range to attack you. Also, when playing veigar you should always be aiming his event horizon to cast right on the edge of a champion, that way you have a guaranteed stun. Just my 2 cents tho. Not trying to correct you, just trying to give some advice, because I've played against good players who do these things very effectively and it really works for them.

Let him E to friendly minions. If it's cast on a friendly minion, it'll grant him a small Movespeed buff.

That's too strong. One of Talon's weakness is that he has no reliable escape aside from his ult, but you have to decide to either blow all your killing potential to escape, or try to save it to kill someone.

It's like giving Kassadin range.

yea and it would look too much like Kat also. perhaps the slow increased time by like .5 seconds or something

You killed a champion Talon's entire kit is designed around killing

That's not an indication of balance, that's you doing your damn job

Gorsz4 votes

Meaning talon is good and does his job.

You kind of nullify any argument for buffs.

Auz the Ripper3 votes

There's a difference between being able to your job and being in a good place Urgot can do his job, does that mean he's in a good place? No, it doesn't

YOU BEEN WARNED1 votes

Lol no he can't do his job, his job is to shut ADCs down early game. Thanks to his mana pool and Soraka's rework, he can't do that anymore.

supes the lost2 votes

Urgot top player here, he builds item 3042, which deals with the problems you mentioned, I'm not saying he's in a great place, mainly because he is more of a caster bruiser then an adc. point is point, he can, and very often does, get kills and wins games, you just have to know what your doing.

YOU BEEN WARNED1 votes

... No he is meant to be a champion that shuts down ADCs.

Most champions with range can beat toplaners, this isn't a special case for Urgot.

In botlane, having to buy a item 3070 puts Urgot so far behind that he can't do his job as a lane bully.

supes the lost1 votes

how do you know Urgot was designed to shut down ADCs in the early game, and besides, like I mentioned, item 3042 makes him a late game damage monster. So he can trade some of his early game bully for late game damage off the item 3042 toggle.

YOU BEEN WARNED1 votes

His short range is what weakens his lategame, he transitions into a fighter; hence the no-damage ultimate & armor+magic resist steroid.

item 3042 damage potential is nowhere near item 3031 and item 3153 both of which Urgot does not want. He is not a carry lategame, he's a fighter.

I was here for a very long time, he was mainly played bot with Soraka so he can bully effectively and he can't do that anymore.

but then if u go ez mid you might get outplayed? thats not a problem you wish to start with the ranegd do you? you actually want an advantage over a ranged champ? you are asking for too much.

well his passive is in the top 3

forist1 votes

Oh boy, an ad caster that can add 10% damage to his auto attacks, but is massively squishy and relies heavily on skills for damage. Not to mention 10% is a tiny amount, compare that number to zed's 10% of the target's max health as bonus damage or riven's 50% bonus damage after every ability. I don't think anyone with half a brain thinks talon's passive is strong, especially when it doesn't even fit his play-style.

IT'S NOT JUST FOR HIS AUTOS DUDE WTFe_o IT'S FOR ALL OF HIS SHIT AND NO WON'T LOLKING YOU BECAUSE I KNOW YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT

Its just his auto's. Please calm down before you have an aneurysm.

Here's a quote from the wiki since I'm apparently not a reliable source :

"Talon's autoattacks deal 10% additional damage to any target that is slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed."

TonyTonyMordecai2 votes

The current passive for Talon is pretty bad, since he can't really slow anyone for a good amount of time, and .25 seconds is not enough time for him to even get past the initial animation of him swinging his knife. I don't even play Talon and I know that it's pretty bad.

HyperZEROXL1 votes

If Talon WOULD be mana less, there'd be an issue then. The only thing that restricts Talon is his mana eating, take that away he'd either be nerfed with longer cooldowns or something else. So, Talon's balanced as it is, I just manage my mana very well.

forist1 votes

Actually talon has pretty long cooldowns. Like, compare them to zed or katarina or akali or even riven, who uses energy/resource-less, and they are much longer. Only reason it would be a problem is because talon's rake is easy to land and provides cc.

Mecha MaIphite1 votes

All of his abilities to decent damage (except for his E ofc). The three champs you listed rely very heavily on their ults, and they have a hard time killing people without them unless they're really fed. Riven does to, even though she can still do a lot of damage without it.

forist1 votes

Implying that talon does not rely heavily on his ult to get kills... Have you even played this champ? Also, zed and katarina have 4 abilities that actually do damage whereas talon only has 3.

edit: mb, actually zed has 3 but his w enables him to use the same ability at the same time with two of them, so its practically like he has 4.

Mecha MaIphite1 votes

I used to main zed. Unless you're actually super ahead or your opponent is bad, you do rely heavily on your ult to get kills. Whereas when I play talon, all I need is my core items and I can pop people with E-Q-W and a few more autos.

In my experience, Talon also has much quicker burst than those other assassins. A good zed can pull off his full combo in almost the same time, but Talon's burst is just stronger and doesn't rely on landing skillshots.

forist1 votes

Talon's burst has 2 skill shots, same as zed. Anyways, saying talon's burst is stronger is just incorrect. Zed has much higher damage potential and his damage is mixed thanks to his passive, so its harder to itemize against. I'd hope that we are all speaking based on experience, and that is why I'm saying that the same applies to talon. If you are super ahead, yes you don't need your ult, but in any other scenario you need the damage to finish a player that has even half a brain. You should try killing people without your ult with zed, you'd be surprised at the amount of damage you can put out with just a yommu's and botrk. I've got many kills with zed without my ult just because I was saving it for when the enemy throws some cc or a jungle gank, so i could dodge and secure the kill. Once he gets his two core items zed doesn't need his ult any more than talon does.

Mecha MaIphite1 votes

Bursting someone as Zed requires you to land as many Qs as possible. One Q does deal good damage, but it's hard to 100-0 if you don't land more than that. Since most people max that first, E damage isn't nearly as strong. When you go in as Zed, you have to know the exact pathing of your opponent, your shadow locations and how you have to aim your shurikens for maximum damage. Even after you max your E, your Q is still going to be doing more burst damage. Talon's "skillshot", on the other hand, is practically impossible to miss. Talon's ult can also be used to "dodge", in the sense that you become invisible and gain MS.
